As Aiden and James woke up, they found themselves bathed in golden sunlight. The curtains had been left open, allowing the warm rays to stream into the room. They sat up and stretched, taking a moment to take in the beauty of the morning. Birds were chirping outside, and the sound of the city coming to life drifted through the window. Aiden and James shared a smile and felt grateful for each other's presence. They were excited to get up, start the day, and see what adventures the world has in store for them. Together, they felt ready to conquer the day.
However, reminder set in. They remembered how today was the last day before they all are sent home.
As James and Aiden woke up to a beautiful morning, but there was a realization that today was the last day of camp. They both felt a wave of emotions sweeping over them, knowing that the fun had to come to an end. They had made so many great memories, and they couldn't believe it was about to be over. As James and Aiden woke up and stretched the sleepiness off of themselves, they knew it was time to pack up and say goodbye to the camp. They exchanged a brief glance, which signaled their mutual understanding of what was about to happen.
James groaned and wrapped his arms tightly around Aiden, not wanting to let go of the smaller male. James pulled him close, close enough to smell the shampoo that Aiden uses. He placed soft kisses on top of Aiden's head. James couldn't believe this was going to be over tomorrow. Him and Aiden were no longer going to be side by side, two in one. He found it hard to fathom that him and his boyfriend would be long distance. If he could, he felt like he would throw Aiden in a box and keep him forever. So they wouldn't have to leave each other.
"I'm not ready for this to end..." James sighed, and caressed Aiden's cheek. He looked deeply and softly into Aiden's bright green eyes.
"Me either... I wish we could stay like this forever." Aiden whispered, there was a hint of tiredness still in his voice. Aiden closed his eyes, letting James touch his face, relaxing in the warmth of James's touch.
Eventually, even though they didn't want to, they got up. They started getting dressed and packing their bags, all the while trying to ignore the fact that this was their last day here. It's better to pack up their things now, so that they aren't late tomorrow. As they packed up their things, they shared a silence that spoke volumes. Finally, James broke the silence and said, "I'm really going to miss this place." Aiden nodded, and both of them felt a lump in their throats. They knew too well.
When they finished getting ready, Aiden suddenly turned to James and said, "I'm going to miss you, James."
James immediately knew what he meant and replied, "I'm going to miss you too, mi amor, This has been one of the best summers I've ever had, and it's largely because of you." James smiled at Aiden lovingly.
Aiden felt a lump in his throat and his eyes welled up with tears. He had never been great at expressing his emotions, but At that moment, he knew he had to tell James how much their relationship meant to him.
"You know, James, I never thought I'd find someone who gets me like you do. You're like a soulmate to me, a best-friend I never had, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate you and our relationship."
James smiled and pulled Aiden into a tight embrace. "You don't have to say anything, my love. Just know that I feel the same way. I'm glad we became friends and lovers, and I'm going to miss you a lot when we go back home."
They held each other for a few moments, taking in the bittersweet feeling of the moment. As the hug ended, they knew it what they were going to do. They were going to spend the whole day together, just embracing. It didn't matter what they did, as long as they did it together. Aiden and James decided to spend their last day at summer camp together watching movies and just enjoying each other's company. They started their morning by brewing a pot of coffee and playing some of their favorite records, reminiscing on all the good times they had shared over the summer.
