Aiden was taken back from the sudden question. It didn't feel like James was joking or only saying it as a way to comfort Aiden from the idea of him getting kicked out. Instead, it felt more sincere, like he blurted it out without even realizing what he had really just asked. It was a warm and sweet question, in the mist of all this chaos.

Yeah, James, asked before he could even process or probably think what he was thinking, but blurting it out made him truly realize just how much he wanted it. He craved it. James wanted Aiden to be his and his only. He wanted to be able to wake up beside Aiden, holding him gently.

He wanted to make breakfast for Aiden everyday, while Aiden tiredly waddles to the kitchen, wearing nothing but James's shirt.

He wanted to be able to go to his room after work and business meetings and cuddle Aiden to sleep, listening to his breathing, like it's a melody. James's favorite melody.

James wanted to spend the day play silly games or watch movies together, he wanted to see Aiden's big smile as they live out what younger him always wanted to do.

He wanted to hold Aiden close while helping him with his bad nights. The nights where dysphoria gets the best of Aiden. Those nights were trauma comes back into Aiden's mind. The nights where Aiden is filled with anxiety, depression, rage, everything.

James wanted to protect Aiden. He wanted to provide for Aiden.

Aiden stared deeply into James's eyes, not even sure how to properly talk. He was scared it would all come out in gibberish. But soon, after realizing James was serious about this, Aiden felt his face heat up, a pink hue covering his cheeks. Was he being serious?

"A-are...wh- I... I can't tell if you're joking." Aiden said, still staring into James's brown ember eyes. Together, it was as if their eyes formed the earth element itself.

Still sitting in the tub, James sat up straight, turning to face Aiden, rather than sit beside him. He grabbed a hold of Aiden's face, placing his hands again both sides of his cheeks. James would be lying if he said he didn't squish his hands against them lightly, making Aiden's lips pucker up. He couldn't help it. Aiden was too cute and beautiful for him to contain himself. "I'm serious. I'll figure out everything, all you have got to do is give me an answer." James whispered.

They both looked deeply into their eyes, James still squishing Aiden's face just because he wants too.

At first James was extremely worried that Aiden was going to reject this offer. Probably for many reasons. Maybe he didn't want to live with James. Or, Maybe it was too soon. Or even Aiden would feel guilty living there rent-free. As long as Aiden paid James it back in kisses, he didn't take any mind about fully taking care of his boyfriend. If anything he actually felt accomplished by being able too.

Aiden thought long and hard. He would love to move in with James, but he would feel, so guilty living off of his significant other like that. However... it might be his only option. Not that he was disappointed, he was actually ecstatic.

As if it was perfect timing, Aiden's phone lit up again, his notification ringing throughout the bathroom. It was his landlord telling him to answer him back, and that he better get packing now or all his stuff would be considered theirs.

"What the fuck?! I hate him!" Aiden's mind flooded with dreadful thoughts, he was now distracted from answering James at all.

He slammed his phone on the edge of the tub, as he stood up and began to pace the floor, pulling at his split dyed hair. James watched him in shock, watching Aiden pace back and forth throughout the bathroom, clearly stressed and on the verge of an anxiety attack... the last time James saw Aiden act this way was when Aiden's mother had spread his dead name all over the internet, and that he was transgender...
