Living in the villa is a quite hectic experience. The time spent here has been around four weeks. Over time, we developed a stagnant schedule. I would wake up around 7 a.m. to freshen up and get ready for work. Before I leave for work, I would make breakfast for Accalia and me, before I leave for work and satisfy my morning hunger. Accalia usually wakes up half an hour after I do. Her skill in handling a knife has grown exponentially with the number of hours she has put into it. She's confident in herself and does not feel anxious, at least around me. Her agoraphobia stays. I hope it does get better with time but at the same time, I feel like if it does, I might lose the only companion I have left. The new phone I got her is quite helpful. She is mindful of how she uses it as well as I have warned her about the4 downsides of the technology. She has been spending her time on Youtube, watching lectures to improve her speaking skills as well as her cooking skills. Sometimes, she would get bored and watch movies or funny skits on youtube. She has grown fond of Science-fiction. I have been tackling the options of getting her into an online college. An educational degree would help her get a job easily which will in turn allow her to slip into the real world smoother. Once she becomes financially independent, she won't have to look to me for everything that requires money. It pains me to say this because I have grown attached to her but maybe she'll find a suitor and get married, have her own family. When that happens, I will be back to living my lonesome life.
The sun has risen above the horizon to start another day, a Sunday. Accalia requested to take her out for a movie. A Sci-fi called Gravity. It is an old movie, she watched it on her mobile device and wanted to watch it on a big screen. I tried to book the tickets online but sadly, no theatres or cinema halls were showing them. All of them focused on the new releases which will be better for their business. Upon finding this fact, I could see tears build up in her eyes hidden by a faint smile. "It's okay," She said, "I watched it on the mobile you bought me." I knew that she was trying to be strong. "Hey, you don't have to hide your sorrow in front of me. It's okay to be sad about these things." I patted her head gently. I tried to comfort her but in my mind, I knew that the words alone do not cut it. I remember we had a movie party at our college. We rented a mini projector. I could do the same for Accalia and surprise her. Her smile will be worth every penny I spend. I chuckled. All my life, with all the money I have earned, I was unable to spend a single penny for anyone, not even for myself. I never could find anything that would feel worthy of it. It is weird to finally have someone on whom I want to spend my money. "I will be back in a jiffy. Don't go anywhere. Okie?" I informed her. She nodded.
I drove hurriedly to the electronics store nearby and bought a projector with Bluetooth connectivity. On my way back, I bought some popcorn. It was almost lunchtime. I needed time to set this thing up, so I urged Accalia to go for a quick hunt. She smiled faintly, nodded and ran off in search of a small animal she could find to serve as dinner for two empty stomachs. While she hunted, I set up the place, a white bedsheet used as a banner for the light to be projected on and some popcorn. I also prepped up to cook whatever meat she was bringing. My mother sent me a universal recipe to cook meat which I am going to try today. I heard leaves rustling nearby. "It's Accalia," I thought to myself and darkened the room to surprise her.
Accalia entered the house and was startled by the darkness. "Leo...Why is it so dark in here? Is everything okay?" I stayed hidden in the dark and silent. I switched on the projector and started the movie. It spooked her a little but she recognised the starting sequence and started squealing with happiness.
"Over here Accalia!" I said while patting the couch. She jumped happily and planted herself beside me on the couch. I placed the popcorn on her lap and placed her head on my shoulder, watching the movie peacefully. I forgot that I needed to do something. So I excused myself from Accalia's arms and went to the kitchen. She had brought two rabbits with her. While she watched the movie, I de-skinned the rabbits and placed them in the marinate. With an entire month of handling the meat, I have gotten faster in prepping it up. I went back to the couch. She was mesmerized by the movie but she sat on the couch as if she was waiting for me. Her posture was delivering the message that she has noticed a piece of her missing. I sat beside her, placing her head back on my shoulders. She leaned onto me, her eyes still glued to the screen. "In your arms, I am complete. Without you, I am a puzzle with its last piece missing." She whispered. I smiled, completely rendered unable to reply to this. The movie concluded. She turned to me and hugged me tightly. I patted her back and kissed her head. "It's my gift to you," I whispered softly. She smiled and wrapped her arms around me, snuggling me. "Thank You!" We spent the entire afternoon watching the movie that day. She was overjoyed and could not stop thanking me. I showed her the know-how of using a projector so that she can watch things directly on the big screen when she can. She followed the recipe my mom had shared with me and cooked us dinner. She wanted to show her gratitude towards me and she did so by fixing me dinner.
"It tasted really good, Accalia. You did a great job." I praised her. She smiled brightly and hugged me again. I suggested that we should take a walk together in nature after dinner. It was a full moon night, the moonlight was being filtered through the canopy of the forest. Those who roam the surface of the planet through the day are now slumbering and the creatures of the night are walking the earth. With them, Accalia and I walked in the forest, holding each other's hands. Accalia, with her hunger satisfied, her hunter instincts were at bay. "I have never been able to enjoy so much freedom. I spent ages inside the walls of my house, regretting my mere existence." I gently loosen my grip on her. "You can do whatever you want, no need to be afraid. Just make sure not to enter anyone's territory." I replied.
