You woke up in the hospital, in a gown. Your wounds had been treated, but your wings felt like they were going to break off.

Nonetheless, you covered your send in them like a protective shield. You were up before the others. You felt tears fall down your face. You weren't able to do anything.

"Did you sleep, midoriya?" Todorokis voice questioned.

"No, not really." The green haired boy replied. "Thinking about that fight now, we did something amazing. After everything that happened back there. It kinda feels like a miracle we're even alive. With my leg messed up I was an easy target. He probably could've killed me if he really wanted to."

"Yeah, seems to me he let us 3 live on purpose. I'm impressed by you though Iida. He was actually trying to murder you, but you stood tall." Todoroki praised.

"That's not true. I was..." Iida started.

The door opened. You slightly opened your wings. Grand Torino was the one to speak. "Oh. So the injured youngins are awake. Idiot, I could yell at you for hours, right now. But before I do, you've got a visitor."

The chief of police, kanji Tsuragamae. You tried to stand in respect. Still not really opening your wings.

"No please, stay seated, woof." The chief instructed. "So, your the UA students who brought down the hero killer? Stain has some serious injuries. Severe burns, cuts, and several broken bones. Right now, he's in the hospital under strict guard, woof. Here's a lesson you should have already learned; when quirks became the norm the police force sought to maintain the status quo. They decided we wouldn't use quirks as weapons. That's when heroes came in. They could do what we couldn't, if they were licensed, of course, woof. It would be impossible for police to condone the use of deadly quirks. After all, we're here to stop such harm from being done. The only reason pros can use their powered now, is because of the strict code of ethics that the early heroes chose to abide by. That's why it's against the law for uncertified people to use their quirks to cause injury. Whether you were up against the hero killer or not, none of you had the authority to harm the villain.  That means the four of you, and your supervisors- Endevor, manual, grand Torino, and hawks-  should receive harsh punishments for this gross abuse of your power-"

"Now wait a minute. If Iida had not stepped in, naitivr would've been murdered." Todoroki interrupted. "And if not for midoriya, both of them would be dead! No one else even realized the hero killer was in hosu! Are you saying we should've just stood by and watched people die?"

"So it's okay to break the law as long as it goes your way?" The chief questioned.

"But sir, isn't it a heroes job to save people?" Todoroki protested.

"This is why you're not a full fledged pro yet. It's obvious UA and endevor haven't been teaching you near enough. What a shame." The chief commented.

"YOU DAMN MUTT!" Todoroki shouted. Instinctively, you sent feathers to hold him back.

"What I've said is the official stance, of the police department, but any punishment would only be necessary if this went public. If it did, you'd probably be applauded by citizens everywhere. But there's no way you could escape from being reprimanded. On the other hand we could say endevor saved the day. Stains burns would support this story completely, and we could pretend you weren't involved, woof. Thankfully there were very few witnesses. This could be the last you heard of any punishments. It would be no one would know about you though. You'd receive no acclaim at all. The choice is yours. Personally I know where I stand." He gave a thumbs up.

You retracted your feathers and perched up on the bed. Covering yourself in protective wings, again. Blocking out the sounds of the outside world.

After the pros and chief left, you felt someone tap on your wings. You flinched them away, slightly, before opening them up a little. It was midoriya.

"Hey... what's wrong? Other than the injuries. You've been blocking yourself off ever since the incident." The green haired boy gave a worried smile.

"I wasn't capable enough..." you muttered.

"What?" Iida questioned.

"I wasn't capable enough." You spoke louder. "Not even cause of these stupid injuries... I wasn't able to fly high enough to help midoriya. I can't even go that far past a first floor. Not to mention a part of my quirk I hate more than anything, keeps trying to resurface..."

A small hissing chirp released from your throat. Your right arm was shaped like a birds talon, like when you first got your quirk. "A beast. A bird beast that I have little control over... k- hawks- knows it exists but not my limits. I have to take quirk limiting pills just to keep it at bay- but they are in my hero costume. Not to mention I was basically useless during the fight. All I could do was a few fancy feather tricks."

"Hey- shh- it's ok. You just weren't suited for a fight like that." Midoriya tried to comfort you.

"K, could..." you muttered, closing yourself back up.

"Yeah? Well, are you him?" Todoroki glared. "Midoriya has already helped me accept I don't have my fathers quirk, and the same goes for yours. You don't HAVE your brothers quirk. And I don't have a shit, how much you think his is better, or how much more control he has. You wanna know why? Cause he got different training."

You opened your wings a little more.

"Todoroki, who are you talking about?" Midoriya questioned.

"Say it, say it's your quirk." Todorokis glare was intense. It resembled Endevor, except not Endevor. His was strangely kinder.

"It's- my quirk..." you laughed as you wiped away a few tears.

You noticed your phone ringing. You excused yourself, and grabbed a small walking stick to grab your phone. It was keigo.

"Hey..." you looked down.

"Y/N! IM ON MY WAY! What were you thinking!?" Keigo shouted, a worried screeching.

"I'm sorry.." you whispered. with that keigo burst through the door, hanging up the phone.

He wrapped you in a tight hug. "Oh y/n I'm so glad your alive! My question still stands what were you thinking?!"

"I wanted to be like you." You hugged tighter.
