I woke up on the couch with Matt sitting on the other end and it looked as if he had been crying. I shuffled around a bit to let him know that I was awake, he turned to look towards me and a look of relief just came over his face.
"Layla, I was so worried about you!" He said while hugging me, super tight might I add. "This is why you need to eat! You fainted and it scared me to be honest. I didn't know what to do, so I just sat here and cried." I have only seen Matt cry once and it was horrible. I felt bad that I was the one who made him cry, I never want to be the source of Matt's tears. While I was off daydreaming, Matt brought over some spaghetti for me and we turned on the tv and just watched random tv shows.
We had to go to bed early since we have to leave at 3 am. Whenever I spent the night there, Matt always had me take his bed and he always slept on the floor. I always fought with him on this but he always told me that there was no way I was sleeping on the floor, so I just kind of gave up fighting. I hopped into Matt's bed while he made his "bed" on the floor. After he turned off the light, I tried to go to sleep, but all my emotions hit me like a bus. I started crying like there was no tomorrow. I tried to keep it quiet so Matt didn't know, but that utterly failed.
"Shh, Layla." he said climbing into the bed and pulling me towards him. He held on to me like he was going to lose me if he let me go. My cries got quieter and eventually they stopped completely. Once I stopped crying, Matt got up to go back down to the floor until I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
"Can you just sleep up here tonight?" I asked.
"If you want me to, I will." He said climbing back into the bed, going under the covers and pulling me close to him. I felt safe in Matt's arms. I fell asleep almost instantly but then got woken up by Matt's screaming phone at 2:30 am so we could get some-what ready for the long day ahead of us.
I just threw on Matt's sweats that I have been wearing for the past couple of days and just threw my hair up in a bun and I ended up having to wait for Matt to finish getting ready. Once he finished, we grabbed our bags and walked over to my place, making sure to lock Matt's door before we left. I walk in and my mom and sister were sitting in the living room ready to go and just waiting for my dad to show up to take us to the airport. He came up to the door a couple of minutes after Matt and I walked in, so he helped my mom carry her luggage to his car, while Matt insisted on taking my bag, which weighed a ton. I kept telling him I could take it, but he wouldn't listen.
Once we had all of our bags in my dad's car, we all piled in, my sister on the left side, Matt in the middle and then me on the right side. I was so tired, I laid my head on Matt's shoulder and the last thing I saw before I fell asleep, was my dad giving Matt a glare, but I was too tired to try and fight him on anything.
