After the super long hug, we walked back to the house to actually spend time with my family for a little while. It only took about five minutes to walk back to the house and the entire walk was silent except for the few sniffles that came out of me.

I could see Matt looking at me from time to time in the corner of my eye, but I was too tired to ask him what was up. We finally reached the house, walked up the porch and walked inside. It looked as if nobody was home.

I looked at Matt with a confused look on my face as he did the same. We looked through the house and then I saw a note on the counter in the kitchen. It read,

"Layla and Matt, since you guys were out so long and neither of you had your phones, we went out for a little bit. Haley is at Uncle Jerod's house with the girls. You guys are welcome to go over there or just stay home. We will be home around 1-ish. Be safe please. Love you, Mom."

Matt and I exchanged a few looks and then said, "We're staying here." at the same time.

"Good. I didn't feel like leaving the house again. Let's go watch some tv." Matt said pulling me towards the living room, when I stopped in the doorway. Matt looked at me and said , "Are you okay?" "Can we not watch tv? Can we just talk, like we always do?" I ask. "Of course we can." Matt said as he patted the seat next to him on the couch.

"What do you wanna talk about?" He asked.

"I don't know, really. I just need to talk." I answered.

"Do you need to talk about Jovin?" Matt asked sincerely and I just nodded. Matt scooted closer to me and just started talking, "Listen, I know these next couple of days are going to be hard for you, but just know that if you need to talk to someone, or even just cry, I'll be here for you. Just like I always am." Matt said.

"Thank you Matt. I honestly don't know what I would have done if you didn't come with us. I need you more now than ever, because not it's only you. Jovin isn't here anymore, so now I only have you." I said almost crying but I stopped myself.

"And I understand that, Layla. I have always been here for you. Always. If you ever need anything, I hope you know that you can come to me." Matt said and I nodded. We sat there in silence for a while, but it was nice.

I got up without saying a word and pulled Matt up to follow me outside to sit on the porch swing. I laid down, meaning that my head was on Matt's lap. I just looked up at the stars. God they were beautiful out here. There were no streetlights to block the glow of the stars, just just shone in their natural glory. After a few minutes of laying there, Matt started playing with my hair putting me to sleep instantly.
