It was 8:30 and I was still laying in bed, still in Matt's arms as he slept. I didn't want to get up, but the funeral was at 10 and we needed to be there by 9:45, so I had no time to waste, and I still had to get Matt up, and that itself is a chore.

I was shaking him, repeatedly, trying to get him to wake up because he still had to get ready. After about 5 minutes of shaking him, he finally got up.

So I went to the bathroom, did my makeup then took my hair out of the bun I put it in last night to protect the curls and then brushed my hair and teeth. I threw on my dress and my plush lined tights and walked into my room to grab my heels.

When I got out of the bathroom, I saw Matt already in his nice tux putting on his dress shoes. I went over to my suitcase pulling out my nice pair of heels and putting them on.

"You look good Layla." Matt said standing up, linking our arms together.

"You look good too, Matthew." I said as we walked into the living room to meet with the rest of my family.

By this time it was already 9:30, so we had to be leaving soon. Once everyone from my Uncle's house showed up, we all left together. As we walked out of the house and into the cars, I felt a little tear fall from my eye, but I quickly whipped it away so no one would see.

The car ride was absolutely silent. Nobody said anything. When we pulled up to the church, a ton of people were already there. The parking lot was already full, except for three spots they had left for the three cars we were arriving in.

As we all got out of the cars, everybody looked at us with just sadness in their eyes. We walked into the church, Matt now holding me to his side, and we walked up to the front rows. I didn't dare go up to that casket again. It would just break my already broken heart into a million smaller pieces.

The service began and I didn't really pay attention to any of it. There was no way I would be able to. The only thing I knew was that all of the nieces had to go up to the closed casket and put a white cloth over it. That was going to be pure hell.

Our time came and the five of us went up and did it flawlessly then went back to sit down. Then a few more words were said, and then it was over. They were carrying the casket out of the church and we were following. That was when I felt like I was going to lose it, but I didn't.
