She didn't know how to deal with this... Matters of emotion were not her... Forte. Nor were they Drakken's for that matter. She sat there, hurt and numb at the same time, for a long while, until she lost track of time. The quiet in the lair at the moment terrified her more than she thought. She felt alone, an island state, even though she could tell Drakken was right outside the door. She finally got up and laid on her bed, silent as a mouse. She didn't cry as she had expected to, which was good, she supposed. She laid there, brooding and silently cursing herself. She'd fallen in love with her employer, who acted like a child half of the time, whining and petulant. He could never love her like she dared to hope he could. He would never see her the way she wanted to be seen... Could he? A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
"Shego, could I talk to you for a minute?" His tone was uncharacteristically soft. He had already opened the door slightly, so there was no point in her arguing with her. He sat at the edge of her bed, close to her head.
"Shego, I want you to listen very carefully to what I have to say." Her head was buried in her pillow, but she turned it enough to let him know she was listening.
"I'm sorry," he began. "I should have said something to you sooner about the party. I didn't think you'd remember..." Again, she recalled the drunken admission, and ice shot through her heart. He was quiet for a long moment before he said, "I did mean it." She sat up.
"W-what?"
"I did mean it. What I said at the party..." Hope burst through her like a bomb detonating.
"You did?" She asked quietly, leaning in closer to him. He nodded, doing the same until their faces were almost touching. She closed the distance and met his lips in a small kiss. It electrified her skin and made all of her nerve endings stand to attention. It was more than she could have dreamed of. She broke the kiss as the dreadful thought of the baby came back into her mind.
"You don't want it, do you?" She asked quietly, her head hung in solace.
"No, no, no, I do!" His vehemence surprised her. He took her hand in his. "We have created something spectacular." He said, "Think about it: an evil heir! The thought is delicious!" A small grin graced her face.
"Shego, I love you and I want this baby just as much as you do." The words blew all of her logic out of the water. She kissed him, deeply this time. She knocked him backward onto the bed, and he, although shocked, never let go of her hand. Their lips parted and he asked a question that had been lingering in his mind for some time after her admission.
"What are we going to do about Kim Possible, Shego?"
The thought made her stop short. What could they do? It wasn't like she could just keep battling Kim Possible in her present condition. She ran a hand through her thick black hair, hoping some divine intervention would give her a solid answer.
"What did you do with the Possible Posse?" She asked.
"After they disarmed my devastation ray," he said, not without a bit of Malice, "I had the henchmen take her and the sidekick to the basement."
"The basement? Why the basement?"
"There's no vents to escape into, she and the Buffoon were cuffed to the wall, and the naked rat was jarred. I made sure the henchmen stripped her of all of her gadgets. There is no possible way for her to escape."
At the last statement, Shego blinked.
"Are you sure?" She asked, raising a questioning eyebrow.
"Of course I'm sure! It's inescapable!" She crossed her arms. A morbid thought crossed her mind and it made her nauseous. She turned to Drakken and said in a low voice: "We have to tell Kim Possible."
