Enemies

She saw his mouth drop open and try to utter a protest, but she silenced him with a wave of her manicured hand.

"Think about it," she said, the slightest waver in her voice. "What would she think if every time you started a 'take over the world' scheme, you said I was on vacation. After a while it'd get too suspicious. I can't fight her with this... Thing growing inside of me. And if... If someone were to come after us... Maybe we could use some help..."

Her voice had cracked several times throughout the speech. Swallowing her pride was the hardest thing she'd ever done, and to do it in front of her arch foe made it that much more painful. She looked at Drakken, who stared at her with an utterly bewildered look on his face. Her words had struck a chord with him, but his face remained unchanged. She had beguiled him often, but this, surrender to the enemy, was something he could have never pictured Shego saying in his most catastrophic dreams. He realized, in that moment, what pain she must be in to have to admit such a thing. Her head was bowed, her nails digging into her thigh (which, he was certain, had to be painful.) and hunched over body. That was what shook him the most. He sighed softly and looked down at the green carpet.

"You're right." He said. She peered up at him through tendrils of her black hair. He took her hand, helped her up, and led her to the basement.

The basement was dank and musky, just as she'd imagined it to be. The dark brown walls were water-stained, and everything on the walls had rusted. A few leaky pipes dripped water from the ceiling, turning the dirt floor into a mud hole in certain places. There were no windows, and only one door. Shego nodded to herself. Dr. D had actually done alright by keeping them down here. He flipped a light switch by the door, and a dim overhead light flickered to life. Drakken walked over to the pair that hung on the wall, and began to speak.

"So, Kim Possible, now that I have you here, I suppose you're wondering what I'm going to do with you." Kim looked up at him, a "no, really?!" Look on her face.

"Well, Kim Possible... I'm going to let you go."

"Say what, now?" Asked Ron, stunned.

"I'll let you free if you listen to what Shego and I are going to tell you, and you swear not to tell a soul."

"Alright..." Said Kim, raising an eyebrow "I'm listening."

Shego took a deep breath and stepped forward.

"I'm pregnant."

Three looks of matching horror stared back at her.

"Oh, that is sick and wrong!" Shrieked Ron, attempting to hide his face. Rufus made gagging noises, accentuating the point.

"Shego, I-I can't believe..." She couldn't even finish her sentence.

"Well believe it, princess. So if you don't see me fighting you with Dr. D, that's why." Her face darkened considerably. "And if- if someone came after the child... We might need your help." She finished quietly.

Kim was beyond stunned. Her arch foe was asking for her protection. She couldn't form a coherent sentence, let alone a complete thought. All she could do was stare agape at Shego, whose hand lay protectively on her stomach. It slowly sunk in that this couldn't have been a joke, or some God-awful prank. Shego was actually swallowing her pride and asking for help. There was no way that would have happened under any normal circumstances.

"If something happens and you need protection," she choked out, "I'll help you."

"KP this is so messed up!" Shrieked Ron, still frazzled.

"I know, Ron. But it's our job to help people. Even the villains, when they need us..."

Drakken undid their shackles and let the pair down. Kim listened with a sense of satisfaction when they rattled to the ground. Shego let Rufus loose, and the three scrambled from the dark confines of the basement. He handed them all of their gadgets, and they went of, still thinking about the craziness that was Shego's pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Shego and Drakken sauntered off to the lab, in hopes of recovering what was left of the devastation ray. Unbeknownst to them, a small, tick-like bug was watching their every move, and reveling in the chance for sweet, sweet blackmail.
