It was two days before Shego woke up. In that time Drakken had not once left her bedside. He kept her hand In his at all times, as if giving her his life force. Occasionally he took time to grieve for their lost child, but he knew he'd be better to do that with Shego. He'd begun looking at her differently since her encounter with Dementor. He saw her as more fragile than porcelain. Something he couldn't bear to lose. It was then that he'd begun to contemplate having her as his wife. He knew she was a taste he'd never tire of, something that would only better with age, like cheeses or a fine wine.

When she awoke, she felt confused. Her head pounded with the beginnings of a headache, and she felt that one eye wouldn't open, even if she tried. She knew immediately that she was in a hospital by the aura of white that surrounded the place. Why was she here? Snippets of her time with Dementor blurred by in her mind. Oh. She moved her head slightly, and was surprised to see Drakken dozing off in the chair next to her, holding her hand. She squeezed his weakly. It wasn't much, but it was enough to rouse him. He looked at her, and in an instant he saw everything he ever wanted flash before his eyes. He smiled at her, and she smiled back. He called in a nurse who eyed them suspiciously, but recorded her vital signs. The doctor proceeded.

"How is the baby?" She asked.

Drakken's hand tightened around her own.

"Miss Go... I'm sorry..."

And her world fell apart.

At first she didn't understand why she was crying. Surely she should be happy? She got what she wanted, didn't she? Now she had Drakken and didn't have to worry about anyone coming after them. It was what she'd always hoped for. So why did she feel a gaping hole in her heart?

She'd loved it. That was the answer. Even though she'd only known about the dwarfish creature a few days, it was enough for her to start unintentionally loving it.

Since she had only been a few weeks pregnant, there was no way for the doctors to tell the gender of the baby. So, they picked a neutral name (Alex) and held a private burial. For those first few days after she found out that her baby was gone, she'd shut down completely. She didn't eat or sleep. She never responded when someone called her name or talked to her. She just lay there on her side, eyes staring into the unforeseen distance, with her hand over her stomach, as if the phantom child still existed.

She didn't move until three days later. It was sudden, but she'd shot up from her bed and began to weep. Her state of depression had only worsened from there, and Drakken was beginning to feel powerless to help her. They'd tried going back to their every day lives. He'd plot a scheme, Kim Possible would try and stop him, they'd fight, she'd win. The cycle repeated itself again. But nothing felt real. The emotions, the movements, were all hollow. As if they were robots, doing everything automatically. The minutes, hours, days, and weeks droned on, with Drakken and Shego existing in their own personal hell.

Finally, he couldn't stand it anymore.

He'd gone to the jewelers earlier in the week and picked up a ring. It was simple, a four carat diamond cut into the Shape Of a heart with two small emeralds adorning the sides. He had insisted that Shego put on her best dress and go out to dinner with him. Well, it was dinner in the lair, but he'd made everything himself. He wasn't the greatest chef in the world, but he could follow instructions fairly well. After a lavish dinner of Penne Basillica, Cajun chicken in a red wine reduction sauce, and creme brûlée, he cleared his throat.

"Shego, I'd like to ask you a question.

"Sure, Dr. D. What's rattling around in that big, bulbous brain of yours?"

He got down on one knee next to her and she let out an audible gasp.

"Shego, you've been my partner in crime for years. You've always been right behind me, with your bright wit and charm. Sometimes you've left to go on vacation or just to get away from me. Even though you didn't have to, you'd always say goodbye. I don't want to say goodbye anymore."

He pulled out the ring.

"Shego, I want you by my side in every crime, from stealing a computer chip, to stealing my last breath. Make me the happiest man on earth. You've already stolen my heart, now let me give you my life. Shego, will you do me the honor of not only being my partner in crime, but by being my partner in life? Will you marry me?"

In a voice that was barely audible, she whispered "Yes."
