What Rox said perked up his curiosity as he wanted to know what happened to half of their guardian group and how Rox earned those scars on his armor and face. Two guardians return to the group, seeing that their team made a campsite since they nearly pulled an all-nighter. They needed the energy to continue their battle in the corruption war, and the warriors then started to collect some stones and wood for the campsite. Kanji accidentally whacked Rox in the face with branches he was collecting. Lily and Brian were on hunting duty to get some food to eat along with the packets of rice Ace brought from his boat. Yukihyō and Kronous were tidying up the camp and waited for Kanji to return to use his firepower to light the fire in the middle.
Once the camp had been set up and Kanji blasted the fireplace to warm them at night and ate some fish and rice that Yukihyō and Ace made, Rox was the first to open his mouth to speak, ¨I think I need to address this and it has been on my chest for some time. It's time for me to tell you the story back at that camp.¨ Kronous then became concerned since he did ask that question to Kanji earlier, But Rox was the one who knew about the missing guardians.
Rox then spoke,¨ at the old camp, Citrus and I fought against the king and his army to push them back as much as we possibly could, knowing fully well that we´ll get killed by the king. In that fight, he shot out his powerful beam at me, and it missed, and knowing the king, he NEVER missed. I turned around to see Kanji and Rudra falling from the sky; it turned out. He wanted to stop the other two from escaping to kill off all guardians.¨ Rox then took a few bites and looked at the fire, reminding them of the camp´s incident, and continued, ¨Citrus tried to warn me, but I was too late, and once I turned around, I was blasted in the face by his beam and fell to the ground, dazed, and things went black for a minute. Citrus then woke me, and I tried to warn them about the king's attack, But the king was too fast for her to escape once I warned her and got a hold of her and.. ate her..¨ He started to shake, traumatized from what they saw back then, and Kanji put his head on his shoulder to confer him, which caused him to blush a bit and rub Kanji´s head like a little pet, and it was very soothing to Rox. Rox continued with his tale, ¨After he killed her, He left me be to hunt down the rest of the team, thinking I would die without Citrus´ aid. I simply went after them and saw that Rudra was speared in the chest by the wood, but his body wasn´t there due to the king finding it first. That´s when I heard a scream, and That was Kanji; the king had them by their arm and was about to kill them with his tail. I picked up a piece of burning wood and tossed it at him, giving Kanji time to run. I fought the king and had to run from him since he transformed into that draconic form and found Kanji unconscious from the smoke. I saved him with the purity mask and carried our new guardian to the boat. ¨ He moved his arm to get his shoulder over Kanji and gave another head pat, causing Kanji to blush and thump his tail on the ground, which caused Lily to giggle at the sight and awed at the cuteness of the two guardians, The two then split apart, blushing heavily, and Yukihyō spoke, ¨Let´s head to bed; we will continue story-telling tomorrow on the boat to find the next piece.¨ They agreed as they went to their separate tent while Kanji stayed behind to take out the campfire.
Rox was in the guardian tent and waited for Kanji, which was gone a little longer. Rox went to find Kanji, only to find him by the beach. When he got close to him, he heard him sniffling. He got close to him and placed his hand on his shoulder; Kanji looked up with teary eyes. Rox asked, ¨Is something in your mind?¨ Kanji nodded, got up and said, ¨If I wasn´t found by Yukihyō, I wouldn't get your team killed.¨ Rox frowned, moving his hand to his cheek and spoke in his conferring tone, ¨Look, Kanji, It wasn't your fault. The king would still find our camp, even without you around, but look around you; we got our friends back and the crystal back with your help.¨ Rox wiped away his tears with his finger and he continued, ¨ I love that part of you–¨ Rox blushed, revealing his feelings for him, and Kanji blushed too as he said, ¨You loved me?¨ Rox nodded before the two decided to head to bed, feeling warmer that night.
