The Shock

Everyone was silent after Kanji dropped the bombshell about their relationship with the king. The team backed away from Kanji and his mother out of anger and fear. Rox said with an angered yet feared tone, ¨So that is why you have those abilities; it was your father´s! Why didn't you tell us?!¨ Kanji lowered his horns as his tail flicked to express his anger and said, ¨I didn't have my memories back then. How am I supposed to know that I was the prince of corruption?!¨ He teared up a bit since it hurt him to be angry at his only remaining guardian teammate from the camp incident. Rox soon realized that he was upsetting Kanji as he saw tears dripping from his cheek; Rox tried to come close to apologize, but he snared at Rox and ran off, leaving his mother behind. Yukihyō was upset and looked at Rox, and she then tried to go after Kanji, but was stopped by Brian as he coiled her.
Kanji kept running with tears trickling down his face before he slowed down to the waterfall and just broke down as he collapsed to his knees. Kanji said, ¨This is all my fault, ever since I came here. I was just causing problems.¨ he even curled up to hug his knees to his chest and soon heard Tina´s voice, ¨It wasn't your fault that things happened in your adventure went south.¨ He turned and saw her in the waterfall as a reflection. Tina spoke, ¨Rox didn't mean to be mad at you; he was just scared and slightly upset at himself for not seeing those signs of you being related. But the only ones who knew you before you regained your memories were me, my coworker, Kronous, the newest crystal, Milly, and the final crystal.¨ Kanji looked away from the reflection, and one of the butterflies landed on his head as her voice echoed in his head, sounding a bit worried, ¨but, I suggested that you go back to the group before any corrupted creatures find you here alone.¨ Kanji tilted his head in confusion before he turned to go back to the others.
Kanji then felt someone grab him by his arm, and he was pulled back before it changed its grip to grab him by the chest and slam him to a wall, causing the wall to have cracks as Kanji splattered blood from the sudden impact. Kanji looked up to see a massive, brute, corrupted plant dripping corruptive substance from its mouth. The butterfly panicked and flew back to where they came from to get help. Kanji then roared at them to assert his authority for being the higher ranking. The corrupted brute didn't follow his command as it growled at him that Kanji´s frame vibrated like being near a roaring vehicle. It opened its jaw, and its teeth covered the roof of its mouth, wanting to bite the lone guardian´s head off. Kanji started to charge up their blast to hurt or even kill the brute.
Before Kanji got a chance, the corrupted one was hit by a war hammer to their side as he heard Rox´s voice, ¨Let Kanji go!¨ he turned to see the team, and the butterfly came along, showing that they returned with help. He then turned to face the monster again and blasted it, causing it to drop him, and he ran to the team before turning around and attempting to control the creature again by growling and hissing as his tail started to fuzz out of a cat, but that only made it angrier. Kanji backed away slightly as it approached him before Rox came rushing to the brute and used his second hammer, causing it to fall from the injury to the leg. Kanji then ran to help Rox as he used what he remembered from his past, what the former cyan guardian did to misguide the enemy. He started to pulse as his chest piece started to ding, and it soon went faster and faster before he vanished. The brute and the team were shocked and looked around before it heard a loud ding behind it and turned around, seeing them behind them, and used its sword on the throat, killing it as blood spread, which covered Rox by accident. Kanji landed on the ground, looked at a blood-soaked Rox, and walked to him. Rox looked away from him before he looked back at him, saying, ¨I am very sorry for what I said there; I was just scared that you´ll go with your father, the king, after you remembered your identity.¨  Kanji walked over to Rox and said, ¨ It's alright. I should not have run away from being upset: I would´ve died if everyone didn´t come to my rescue.¨ He hugged Rox, getting himself soaked in blood too. The team was soon at ease before realizing there was one last person to cure: the king.
