The resistance then devises a plan: since guardians could purify things to a certain extent, they will be used to cure the crystal the king had corrupted: reducing the king´s power by one-third. The resistance then walked through the cave system as Kanji stayed by Yukihyō as he wanted to keep her close after nearly losing her to a cave monster, and Rox said ¨Kanji? Can you come here for a second?¨

He nodded as he ran to them, leaving Yukihyō behind; Yukihyō looked at Kanji and the team, and she gave a heartwarming smile as she reflected on the times with Kanji and reflected her times with memories of her past. She ran a bit to catch up with the others, and she was soon caught by a big, dangerous werewolf and was bitten on the right shoulder, causing her to scream in pain. Kanji turned around to see the werewolf, and his eyes turned into black eyes again and went after the wolf, causing the wolf to release and run from the angry guardian while the others checked on Yukihyō.

Brian saw the bite mark on Yukihyō's shoulder and soon realized who had done the deed, and he spoke with a frightened tone, ¨We need to stop Kanji before he kills her.¨ Rox was confused and asked, ¨Why, They bite Yukihyō.¨ Brian said, ¨That was Lily: my Wife! She was corrupted by the king directly too.¨  Yukihyō heard it and asked Rox, ¨Please listen to Brian. I don't want him to lose his mate as I did with mine.¨ Rox then made a hard decision, and he said, Alright, we save her..¨ The other then ran to stop Kanji, and Rox had a thought, ´Who was Yukihyō´s mate? How did she lose him? I´ll ask her when all of this is over.´

Kanji chased Lily as he wanted to kill her; Lily was fearful of the angry guardian as she saw some of the servants from the king and used her limited hive link to command them to stop Kanji. They happily abolished it as there were in mass numbers. Kanji used his claws and tail to kill the unfortunate victims, and he let out an angry roar, which scared her pretty badly. Lily just continued to run as Kanji was busy with her soldiers. Lily slipped into hiding as Kanji ran past her; Lily covered her mouth as fearful tears trickled down her cheeks as her mind repeated the phrase, ´I´m going to die.´

She then heard Kanji´s footsteps fade and sighed in terrifying relief. But that didn't last long as she heard growling, and she turned around and saw white fangs and cyan dots in sheer darkness as he pounced on her, taking her out of the hiding spot, and she then looked at the angry guardian as he got off her, but he kept a grip on her neck, showing that this guardian´s fury is fatal as they can make anyone die either quickly and painlessly or slowly and painfully.

Kanji had her neck in his grip as she looked over at Kanji's face, and Lily started to have a blurry vision as her throat was closing up, and Kanji was forced to let go as he felt something wrapping around him, losing grip on Lily. Lily coughed to get the air back into her lungs before she fled from the trapped, rageful guardian.
Brian kept Kanji in his coils, and Rox and Yukihyō tried to make him snap out of it until Rox used a strange yet intresting spell on him, knocking him out. Yukihyō said, ¨What did you do to him?¨

Rox said, ¨ We have a failsafe in case the fury got too wild.¨ Kanji quickly woke up with normal eyes as his head was aching. Brian loses his coils around Kanji as Rox holds him so that he can get his balance. Kanji said, ¨What.. Happened??¨ Rox said, ¨You nearly choked Lily to death. We had to stop you from killing her.¨ Kanji lowered his head, and Rox lifted Kanji´s head up with his fingertips to look at Rox´s face, which caused Kanji to blush slightly, and Rox spoke, ¨But none other less, and I would do the same to protect my team, and allies.¨

Kanji then gave a soft smile, and his tail wagged slowly. Rox´s Core skipped a beat at his blushed face. Their peaceful moment was soon interrupted when the volcano experienced an intense earthquake, causing some rocks to fall. Kanji and Rox fell into a hole that the two were nearby when Kanji was about to chase Lily, and they skyrocketed upward by unknown pressure from below.

The guardian duo got out before they got squashed into paste by the ceiling, and they felt a large amount of corruption that lingered in their cores, and they soon realized where they were located: The Volcano´s Crown.
