Grace
I sat up in bed and instantly
knew something was wrong. I looked over to Rose's bed and she wasn't there.
"Grace I'm sorry," said Mark.
" I should have known no one would actually want to adopt me, I'm so different then everyone else and I don't know why." I said.
"Grace it wasn't you. They told me they wanted to meet both of you and I assumed they would want to adopt two kids not one."
"What am I going to do now? Rose was my only friend here,"
"Well I have their number so maybe they will let the two of you meet up at some point."
"Really!" I said in an excited voice.
"Sure. I'm certain they will let the two of you get together."
"Thanks," I said in a relieved voice.
It was Saturday so I had no school, so I went to breakfast then I went outside and drew a picture of a wolf howling at the moon. I had just finished my drawing when Mark came and sat down next to me. "So?" I asked.
"They said no."
"What," I said looking at him with despair filling my heart.
"They said they didn't want you two seeing each other."
"Why?"
"I don't know, but they said that you could write to each other."
"Okay, can I have their address?"
"Yes."
At that Mark handed me a piece of paper, got up, and walked away. I looked down at the piece of paper and it had their address and names written down. But what I hadn't told Mark was I wasn't planning on writing, I was planning on finding her.
