"Mmm... mmm..." I say after kissing Spencer twice. "Hey you!"
It's been a week since Spencer and I spent that incredible night together. And I'm still on an emotional high.
He made me feel wanted and needed on the night we made love for the first time. And that's the feeling I want every time.
"What's up, cutie? How's your brother feeling?" He asks and I smile just thinking about how much progress Jerald has made recently.
I visited him after class this morning and he's doing really well.
"The doctor says he'll be home any day now," I follow up.
"That's awesome," Spencer replies and I nod in between a deep and calculated breath. "Is it not?"
"I don't know. It was something about seeing Unique in Philadelphia that makes me nervous for Jerald. What if he's here to hurt him? Maybe he somehow blames him for Nico's death."
"Babe, calm down! Unique won't hurt you while I'm around. That includes your little brother. I promise. Plus, the dude seems like a sensible guy. He knows Jerald is just an innocent kid in all of this." He tries to convince me and I sigh.
"Maybe so. But I think I'm going to tell Jerald that he's in town. I don't want him to be surprised by him in any way."
"You know what's best for Jerald. And I know you'll do what's right." He encourages me.
"Speaking of doing what's right, have you talked to Yara yet?" I counter and I can tell the answer's no, by the look on his face.
"I've been trying to give her the space she needs. But it's really weird for me since we never had this big of an argument before."
"Well, I'm all for giving her space. But at some point soon, I think you should reach out. If I were her, I'd like to know my friend is trying." I tell him and he doesn't totally disagree by the look on his face.
"I'll hit her up, but I doubt she'll answer anyway," he says sadly.
"Well, go knock on her door. I think a week without speaking to your friend is too long. But what do I know?" I ask and he sighs as I reach to kiss his forehead.
