I was sitting at my desk, in the lab, scribbling down equations, and quick sketches to help with the blue prints, that me Ford and Fiddleford were working on.
"You doin' well Y/N." Fids said, his accent coming straight out.
"Thinks so!" I exclaimed, turning on my chair to face him.
"Also Stanford has requested that you help him in there." I nodded, as he pointed next door with his thumb. I got up off of my chair walking next door. The portal was coming along nicely, and Stanford was kneeling down on the floor, nailing things together with a hammer. He looked up at me and smiled.
"F said you needed help." I said, walking up to him. He nodded, but I was oblivious on where I was going, and I tripped over some pieces of metal laid out all over the floor. I landed right on my knee. I groaned trying to lift myself. "F...fricks sake. Why did I have to land on my stupid knee, oh my days." I whispered and rolled my eyes, as Stanford helped me up, grabbing me by the hand and waist, gently pulling me up.
"You alright Y/N?" Ford asked, wrapping his other arm around my waist, looking deep into my eyes.
"Yeah. Just oblivious, is all." I pressed my hands against his chest, breathing slowly, as I wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Are you hurt darling?" He asked, and in reply I shook my head, giving him a kiss on the cheek. I but in reality I lied, my knee was in so much pain, it was indescribable, but there wasn't any point in complaining about it.
"Should we get to working?" I asked, he nodded once, letting me go, bending down, and sitting on his knees, I did the same, but I was dying, and in a lot of pain. "What do you need help with anyways?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, he looked discombobulated, as he put his index finger and thumb on his chin, trying to remember what it was that he needed help with.
"Ah, yes. I need you to make sure these equations are correct." I nodded as he handed me a piece of folded up, blue paper. I unfolded it, and as soon as it opened to it's full capacity, my eyes started darting across the paper, side to side, up and down, solving the equations swiftly in my head.
"Yes. They all match up." My voice cracked, as I winced, from how much pain I was in.
"Are you sure your not-." He asked, I nodded swiftly as I got up, the pressure on my knee making the pain way way worse. I gritted my teeth, letting out a short, and pain filled breath. I walked to the room with my desk, setting myself on my desk, doing some more equations, when about ten minutes later Fids came in, looking at me.
"Ford's really worried about you. He asks if he could check your knee, for any injuries." I looked up from the blueprints, putting my pencil down next to my arm, not wanting to roll off the table.
"Please, tell him I'm fine, and that I don't have any knee injuries." Fids nodded, as I looked back to my paper, hearing him walk away into the portal room as I called it. I started to scribble down sketches, when Stanford gave me the fright of my life. "Woah... you absolutely terrified me." I said spinning around on my chair, to face him. "Also I'm fine. No need to worry." I yawned, crossing my arms.
"Oh yeah Stanford! I'm going to take a shower!" Fiddleford said, looking at the both of us. I had to admit, it did scare me.
"Alright, don't fall down the stairs like you did the last time you got out of the shower. Because of your wet feet."
"I'll try not too!" Fids said smiling, before ascending up the elevator. But then Stanford's facial expression changed.
"Please Y/N, last time you broke your hand." I spun back round on my chair, going back to my blue prints.
"So what, I'm fine." I rolled my eyes, as spun me back round.
"Y/N."
"What."
"You have done this so many times before, every time you have broken a bone. Such as your ankle, or your leg. I know you don't like complaining, and start having a go at me when I try to help you. But it just makes things worse for you. So please Y/N, I want to help you."
~Ford's POV~
Y/N turned around, as I finished my last
sentence. I had a genuine look on my face. Y/N looked at me in the eyes, I thought she was going to agree with me helping her, but was incredibly stubborn, and denied all help."I'm fine I don't have any knee injuries. It's just you being paranoid." She looked down from me, her eyes meeting the floor, giving a tad annoyed sigh. She span on her chair, going to do equations.
"Y/N please, I don't want you to get hurt even more. I don't want you to be in pain, darling." That was when she turned and looked me in the eyes.
"I'm fine, trust me, I'm okay." I looked at her, she looked at me. She sighed, becoming serious. "I'm f-i-n-e. Fine."
"Y/N." She hummed in response, turning back around on her chair. "Look at me." She sighed in annoyance, but did as I said.
"What." She crossed her arms, lifting one leg over the other.
"Unfold your arms."
"Give me a good reason too."
"Just do it, don't ask questions." She rolled her eyes, letting her arms fall to her sides. Then I grabbed her around the waist, I could tell it surprised her. She groaned, as I lifted her up.
"Why."
"Because you are hurt, and if you ignore it, it would get worse. Why haven't you realised that."
"Because it doesn't hurt, so it's okay."
"Yeah but just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean it isn't bothering you. It doesn't mean it's not injured. It means you just can't feel the pain." I stroked her hair, as she tucked her head into my neck.
"Mmmm." I heard her murmur before I heard faint snores. Coming from her. I smiled, as we ascended upstairs. I quietly, carefully, but swiftly made my way upstairs, and gently placed her down on our shared bed. I pushed her head on a pillow gently not wanting to wake her up, while I quickly ran downstairs to grab the first aid kit from the medical cabinet in the kitchen. I ran back up, she was still sleeping, I smiled, and got bandages, but before I wrapped her knee up, I admired her, and how beautiful she was. Whatever shape, size, colour, appearance even, and how she acted towards me. And how she would only fall asleep if I was close to her, preferably next to her. But I would always love her. Nothing would ever change that.
I gently grabbed her leg, slowly straightening it out. I gently wrapped bandages around her knee, putting as little pressure as I could, but enough pressure to keep the bandages wrapped around her leg. Once finished, I put the first aid kit on a desk next to the bed. Afterwards, I got in with Y/N, gently coving the duvet over the two of us. I inched closer, as Y/N wrapped herself around me, nuzzling the side of her head into my chest. Still gently snoring. I drifted off to sleep next to her, wrapping myself around her, too. The side of my head on the pillow. I put my forehead on the top of hers.
"I love you Y/N, to the moon and back." I kissed her cheek, and closed my eyes, falling off to sleep.
