__________
There were sounds of a girl softly weeping. She sounded awfully lonely, but Seraphina wasn't sure if this girl was herself or maybe even the girl she had to rescue. But whoever this was—she could see a curled up silhouette in the corner of the dark room. A girl making herself small to get away from the largeness of the world, so upset where she didn't want to look up from her own darkness.
Why...
The room had a slight chill in the air. Clouds gathered as the sky turned to a tint of blue. Underneath her body was the softness of a bed, but near her wrist were scraps of fabric as bandages. The feeling of your mind disappearing from your body was a terrifying experience. Seraphina could only watch as the other being possess her mind and body, who almost hurt Leon.
Who is she?
Leon must have done the bandages. The wound wasn't deep enough to be severe, but the strength of her own body suddenly became stronger. This person who invaded her mind like a leeching parasite had no qualms about hurting her own vessel. That part made all of her growing fears worse. She had no fear of destroying everything and hurting herself.
If Seraphina continues to be riddled with delusions and fear, then maybe whatever happened to the people in the village was also beginning to change her. She didn't want to become like them. A nuisance and threat to someone she cared about.
She would rather just...die.

Who am I doing this for?
Leon sat at the edge of the bed, his back facing her. His fingers would intertwine and fidget subtly. Even if it he appeared to be calm and thinking about something, she knew he was a little nervous. From what, she didn't know. Seeing his anxiety worried her the most, as in their short time together, she hadn't seen much of his vulnerability.
"Leon..." Her voice cracked and sounded weak. He perked up and faced her, a expression of relief crossed his face. Even his lips curved slightly upwards. She wasn't sure if this was the same Leon she had met six years prior, but he still had his genuine smile. Despite trying his hardest not to show it.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. It's not your fault."
She got up from the bed and prayed to herself that much time hadn't passed. The focus of them being together wasn't on her. It was for Ashley Graham, an innocent young girl dragged in the middle of a mess. At least this time, Seraphina can make her unhappy, broken ends in Raccoon City heal.
If she doesn't fail.
"Let's go and find her." She said as Leon nodded assuringly. They would leave the eerie and dark manor where the chief resided, retracing their steps back towards the village. The village had emptied out completely due to the sound of a church bell, according to what Leon said. With no one around, the silence thrummed until—
