(one)ᵈᵉⁿʲⁱ

denji's pov: 

"its so rainy outside, bruh" i murmured to myself. i turned to my side to face y/n. "she's still asleep? it's 12pm." y/n slowly opened her eyes to meet my dark orange eyes. "good morning.." she sat up, her flowy, shiny hair slowly following her. her plump, light red lips poking out like they always do when she wakes up. she's s-

"denji!" y/n yelled. "G-GAHH! i yelled in fear. "i've been calling you since i've woke up? you've been staring for a while." she said with a confused expression.  i looked at her for a moment, "i-i uhh .. was just looking to see if you were awake . . . ??" i said. "okay ? anyways," y/n paused. "wanna cuddle? i don't feel like cooking right now." "i'm hungry thoughh..." i slurred. "i guess i'll get up an-" "YOU DON'T HAVE TO!" i yelled. y/n slowly started to get up, "i gotta use the bathroom anyway." she walked towards their bathroom.  ''awh .. '' i thought. "I'M NOT HUNGRY ANYMORE, I WANNA CUDDLE I'M SORRY !!!" 

"YOU'RE FINE , DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!"  y/n yelled. i still felt bad. so i decided to go into the bathroom. as i stepped in the bathroom, the steam overflowed and flew into our shared bedroom . "i'm sorry . . ."  i apologized as i swiftly lied the toilet seat down, and sat down. "it's fine, don't worry about it. i'm going to go cook when i'm done with my shower, in the meantime, can you do me a favor?" she asked me. "sure, what is it?" "can you run to the store really quick and buy some groceries now that i think about it?" she said as i heard the shower water turn off, and go quiet. "sure, when u get out can u write a grocery list so i'll know what to buy?" "sure, okay. give me a minute i'm going to go put some comfy clothes on."

an hour passed, and me and her were at the kitchen figuring out what the groceries were gonna be. we were deciding to go on a budget since we were going a bit broke. the bills were going high this month, and items in grocery stores were going up. "so ... i know we need more vegetables, and the fruit is running out.." i stated. "yeah, and we need something for tonight also. i can't think of anything else. OH YEAH, we need some more laundry detergent now that i think about it." i tried to think of something but i couldn't. " i guess i'll see when i arrive at the store, because i can't think of anything either." i told her. she looked down at the grocery list, and handed it to me. "thanks though," she got up and gave me a quick kiss on my forehead. "your welcome bae !" i yelled as i walked out the door, grocery list in hand. 

i sat down in the car, and set my phone on the phone holder located on the dashboard. i cranked up the truck. i played the radio, and 'heart to heart' by mac demarco played. i nodded my head to the music, while turning the steering wheel.  i arrived at the grocery store. i walked inside as the store was fully crowded, people everywhere. i walked to the food isle and gathered the supplies i needed. i walked over to the checkout aisle and checked out my items. i shot a text to y/n to let her know i was on the way.  

i arrived home and unlocked the door with all the groceries in my hand and put them all on the table. "I'M HOME Y/N!" i yelled hoping she'd hear me. "OKAY I'M COMING DOWN!" i heard faint footsteps turn into loud ones as i seen her walk down the stairs in one of my favorite t-shirts and some joggers with violet socks on. "i'm here, did u get all the groceries ?" she asked me. " i did, but they were out of small tomatoes though, but i got the regular in two packs and i could just cut them up." "okay! i'll go ahead and start on the food now." i smiled, she was so pretty when she spoke. i sat there admiring her for a moment, and replied "okay!" 

i went to the living room and sat down on the comfy couch, pulled out my phone, and watched some mukbangs until the time passed. 

a few minutes passed, and i was getting bored. so i decided to go help y/n cook for a little while. i got up and put my phone in my back pocket, and quietly walked towards the kitchen. where i knew y/n was preparing dinner. i raised my hands up over her, and put my cold hands on her shoulders. "you didn't scare me, you breathe hard so i could hear you walking towards me." she started laughing while she was cutting up the garlic for the curry. "OW!" i looked over her shoulder and saw the cut on her middle finger. "i'll go get the bandaid!" i said and hurried into the bedroom upstairs and got the bandaid box, and ran down the stairs back to the kitchen. "here, here!" i wrapped the bandage around her finger. "want a kissy boo boo ?" i asked jokingly. she started laughing, "yeah, i guess" she told me smiling at me.

i stared into her e/c eyes, they sparkled in the little light we had on our kitchen ceiling. i was grateful for all the things that have happened in my life. sadness overflows sometimes, but you always have to keep looking foward. on the bright side, youre still alive, right?

thats what life taught me.
