It had been a week since Taehyung had been attacked.

So far he was doing alright in the hotel room Jungkook had booked for him, at least that was what he told Jimin everyday when he called to check on him. The usual perkiness attached to Tae's voice was absent from their conversations.

Jimin was glad that he was safe, but Jungkook was losing patience, and he was starting to lose grasp on why he was paying to keep Taehyung in a hotel room anyway. Jimin would argue that it was worth it to keep Taehyung safe, and Jungkook would argue back that Taehyung made his own bed.

Jungkook was an Alpha, he'd never understand the struggles Omegas went through. He didn't understand that they were seen as second class humans. The conversation the two had in the bathroom solidified it.

I'm an Alpha...you're an Omega...that's just how the world works.

And Jungkook was right. Jimin hated to admit it but that was just the world they lived in. Jimin would be long dead before any actual and effective change was implemented. If Omegas even managed to force significant change.

"What are you thinking about?" Jimin looked up at Jungkook, who was staring at him. The two were sitting in the back of a fancy black car, taking them to the anniversary party of Jungkook's grandparents.

Jimin wasn't exactly ecstatic to be reunited with those two, considering that the last time they met Jimin hadn't exactly been on his best behavior.

"Are you on good terms with your grandparents?" Jimin asked. When they had to go to the wedding, Jungkook was in a bad mood and visibly hated every second of it. But he actually seemed to be looking forward to seeing his grandparents.

"I used to spend the summer at their house when I was a kid." Jungkook said, eyes scanning the Omega's face. "With Soobin."

The name brought a sledgehammer to Jimin's day. He flinched and turned away towards the window, closing his eyes as he took deep breaths to calm himself down. He tried not to think about what Soobin had done that day. He wanted to wipe the entire thing from his memory.

Oh God, what if Soobin was gonna be at that party?

Jimin didn't even want to be in the same room as that psychopath. For a moment Jimin thought he could be the nicer one of the Jeon brothers, but he was just as vile.

He couldn't help but wonder how kind Soobin was to Gayoung, or rather how not kind he was. They didn't seem to be at each other's throats like how Jimin and Jungkook's batshit relationship worked, but she could just be putting on a brave face when they were in public.

"Hey." A hand cupped Jimin's cheek and turned his face away from the window. "What did Soobin say to you? Tell me."

"What are you gonna do about it?" Jimin asked. "How are you gonna punish him?" Alphas didn't get punished for their abuse against Omegas. What was the point? Still, Jimin's curiosity was piqued. "You would take my side over your brother's?"

Jungkook hesitated, and Jimin couldn't help but notice his pause. "Tell me what happened first."

"Forget it." Jimin sighed, slapping Jungkook's hand away and turning back to the window. "Your help is worthless to me."

"Is that so?" Jimin could hear the hurt smile in Jungkook's voice, the Alpha feeling defensive from the rejection. "Should I call up that hotel and tell them to kick your hobo friend out?"

"You are so heartless!" Jimin snapped, furiously turning his body back to face Jungkook. "You are just so cruel, Jungkook. You have absolutely zero empathy for others and—"
