Summer barges in;
it's dry and intense.There's a drought this year.
Walking is difficult in this heat."Autumn doesn't sound too bad right now."
I cover my mouth quickly- what was I thinking??
Speaking those words could bring it along prematurely.I plead to the heavens, "Just... let me prepare."
A leaf falls.
"So be it."I remain, unmoved.
A leaf falls.
"I heard you the first time", I tell the tree.Another leaf floats. I catch it.
It's gold, and brown, with hints of purple.
Traces of green still remain.
Nature's colour palette.
Beautiful.I look upon the golden sunset.
I realise: This is not the end, but a new beginning.
What was so great about summer this year, anyway?Do not get me wrong:
Autumn and Winter are difficult,
But I like wearing my coat.WHAT IS THAT?
