Augustus P.O.V

I walked back to my room after I had said bye to Mae only to find my new roommate in my- I mean our dorm. He looked up from what he was doing and smiled.

"Oh hey dude, you must be Augustus. I'm Joe."

I made a confused face to throw him off.

"Uhh... I'm David," I said the first name that came to my mind, "... Not Augustus."

His eyes widened.

"Oh...... Oh no. I must be in the wrong room!" He started to panic. "I am so sorry man." He started packing up his stuff again when I smiled. He looked even more confused then before. I let out a laugh making him look to the side as if I was crazy.

"I'm just kidding Joe," I said still laughing a bit. " I am Augustus... but I'm not really liking the idea of 'Joe'... How about..." I thought for a bit, then opened my mouth to speak when I thought of a name. "How about Joey?" A smirk was spread over my face and he smiled and nodded in approve of his new nickname. I helped him finish unpacking right after and 'did' my homework after... Or so I tried, but the topic was so boring to me I decided to walk around school campus until I got tired and headed back to my dorm to sleep.

Mae's P.O.V.

I entered my dorm with Autumn only to be surprised to see a bunk bed instead of my old twin bed. Autumn jumped in excitement when she turned to me almost too nervous to ask me the question that was in her mind. She opened her mouth.

"Uhh... Can I ask you a question... Mae?" She asked as she twisted her hands as if she was nervous of my respond. I nodded. "Can I......" She hesitated on her words "Can I have the..." She mumbled on her last words making me ask her to say them again to hear her clearly. She signed trying to say her words clearly this time but still seemed nervous. "... I know.. I'm your new roommate and all, and that you probably deserve this more then I do, because it is your room after all.... But..... Do you think I.... I can sleep on the top bunk?"

I thought for a bit because after all the top bunk did seem better and all, but I thought of her words.

"Hey, of course you can." I shrugged showing her that it didn't matter to me what bunk I got. "I really don't care which one I get any ways, and plus, remember its our room now." Smiling at her to reassure her. "We're roommates now." She smiled showing me her happiness and started to climb up to the top bunk to decorate her bed. I sat down on the bottom bunk as I looked around and it hit me. I noticed that my room was gone, all my privacy, space, was now to be shared with Autumn. I tried to stay positive telling myself that she is a nice girl that I will get along with. Because she did seem like a very pleasant and harmless person. I finally decided to put some sheets on the mattress and a blanket and a few pillows. I stood up and saw Autumn's bed. It looked nice, but I had to say, our room was now a bit plain. I had the urge to change it, until I saw the clock and noticed how late it was. It'd have to wait till tomorrow. I got ready for bed and lied down to rest. Autumn hung her head down to look at me, making her short hair hang loosely upsidedown.

"Goodnight, Mae... I really hope we can get along." She smiled.

I smiled back. "I'm sure we will. Goodnight." I said getting up to turn off the light.

She smiled once more and laid back in her bed. I lied back down and closed my eyes to the complete darkness. It took me a while to fall asleep, until I eventually did and drifted off to my dreams.
