Mae's POV

I was about done cleaning up when the thought came to my head. "Oh my gosh! They're probably gonna put in a new bed in here for my new roommate!" Then I heard knocks on the door. I opened it expecting it to me my new roommate, Autumn, but was surprised when I saw 2 men instead.
"We were asked to replace your bed with a new one, so if you can take off the bed sheeting of your bed that'd be great help." The man with the no beard said politely. I hesitated.
"O-of course." I rushed to my bed and yanked the bed sheetimg off as quickly as possible.
"Thank you ma'am, now we might take a bit so I suggest you leave for a few minutes if you mind us being here." The same non-bearded man said as the bearded one nodded.
"Oh, no I don't mind, but I'll let you guys work so I'll be leaving." I said as I stepped to the side so they could come in. They dragged in a big box in with them. I wondered what it was, most likely the new bed for my roommate. They finally got the box in the room and I walked out.

I walked to the first place I thought of. The field. It was in the second part of the school where all the dorms where. I like that place very much. It had benches, and picnic tables for me to sit in with a book, or a sketchbook, or my homework and the grass was bright green. That's one of the very few spots that are never lonely during non-school hours. I usually watched the athletic kids kick a ball back and forth, or play a game of football or soccer and sometimes I'd look into the distance off to where the basketball courts where to see the guys shooting hoops. It was very relaxing, there was always at least a gentle wind for me to breath in and out. It helped me get my thoughts straight. I found my favorite picnic table and sat on it. I gazed far at the distance and saw the trees slightly moving from the wind, and the sound of rustling leaves hitting up against each other and the sounds of playing students. I saw a figure from the corner of my eye sit next to me. I turned.
"Hello Mae." Augustus smiles.
"Hello." I replay back.
"What are ya doing here?" He asked in a playfully manner.
"Thinking."
"About?"
"Stuff." I said as I held my head with my hand on the bottom of my jaw, my elbow on the picnic table as I stared into the distance.
"Real specific." He said in a sarcastic voice and an obviously face. I laughed slightly at his comment for I had to admit he was very funny most of the time. A few silent moments pasted on before we spoke again.
"So....... What-cha doing here?" He asked.
I finally turned to face him and opened my mouth to speak.
"Well apparently I'll be having a roommate and I had to leave for them to put up another bed or something."
He slightly grinded to the side, not a smirk, but a grin and spoke.
"Me too."
"What do you mean 'me too"? Your getting a roommate too?"
"M-hm." He nodded
"Oh......... Well that's........ nice?" I said unsure on whether it was actually nice or not. He let out barely a laugh.
"I guess." He said with a shrug and a small smile. A moment of awkwardness passed us. I pushedy hair behind my ear and signed. I looked up at the sky and notice there was a sunset. It was late.
"Well.. I-I got to go its getting late and I need to do my homework." I said as I got up and smiled at him.
"Ok." He said with a small smile as he noticed he had to go too.
"Well... I guess I'll see you tomorrow in class." I said
"Tomorrow's Saturday." He said almost laughing.
"Oh! Aha, whoops then I'll see you one Monday, or maybe around campus tomorrow." I said almost laughing too.
"Ha, yeah." he said looking down as he put his hands in his pocket, said goodbye, and we walked our separate ways. I headed off to my dorm. I walked into the halls where other students dorms were, when I saw a black, wavy haired girl looking quite lost. She saw me and came toward me.
"Excuse me." She said. "Do you know where dorm B24 is?"
My dorm.
"Autumn right?" I asked her.
"Yes... How do you know?" I smiled.
"I'm your new roommate, Mae." I said as I offered to help her with her other luggage.
"Oh, ok thank you." She smiled and we walked to my dorm.
