Adhyay pov....

I was just checking the last minute details of the presentation when somebody knocked on the door.
'Come in, i allowed the person still going through the details on my laptop.
I looked up to find a nervous Riya standing there fidgeting with her fingers .
'I don't have all day for you to speak up-i asked annoyed at her for wasting my time.
Riya jumped on her place hearing his loud voice.
Sir... actually..the r_room I mean conference room audio system has some sudden glitch and the technical team is working on it...so we just need 15 more minutes to get everything done...Riya stuttered not meeting his gaze.
After listening to her silly excuse i lost my last thread of patience.....like are these people for real ....they are telling me that the multi billionaire company has corrupt audio system......this is the peak of indiscipline and their lack of responsibility.
'Do I pay you to hear this foolish stuff....were you sleeping before....didn't you know about the meeting and how much it is important to me........this was supposed to be done hours before.....
I yelled standing up from my chair and banging my hands on the table.
Tears rolled out of her eyes and Riya sniffed looking down all the time..
'Don't show me these tears....after your irresponsible behaviour....fix it in 5 minutes otherwise gather your stuff and get out here'-i warned her and she ran out for her dear life.
I huffed and massaged my forehead to cool down.
I ordered a coffee to relax a bit before going to the meeting.

The meeting went really well and I got the 🤝 deal. clients were highly impressed.
A dinner was arranged from our behalf for signing this new venture.

I returned home late at night.I entered the house with spare keys and found my mother dozing off on the couch in the living area.
I sighed and walked towards her.....she woke up feeling my presence.
'Maa how many times I have asked you to not wait for me and sleep on time'-i asked laying my head on lap and breathed out.she kissed my forehead and stated to massage my scalp.....this was the best feeling in the world....i felt all the tension leaving my body.it was so soothing that i was feeling sleepy 😴 in her lap ....her warmth is all I need after such hectic day.
She cares too much for me ,sometimes I feel guilty to worry her but she won't change ever.
Adhyay....she called me and i hummed in response.
Beta I know you don't like to talk about it ...but bache i want to see you settled.i want you to be happy and have some one beside you to take care of you.....i am not getting any younger bache.....is it too much to ask...she as always started to pester me about getting married.
"Maaaa....i am happy..i have you to take care of me.i dont want anyone and i don't have time for all these stuff too....it's out of my understanding....so please don't start with it again "-i tried to explain her same thing don't for how many times.
She is pestering me from last 2 years for the same thing.
I understand you have grown up now and you don't need your mother advice in making your life decisions...you are a successful business man why would you listen to me.....no matter if i am getting old or even dying........she said using her most powerful weapon.
I got up abruptly from her lap after listening to her....
Maaa don't every talk about dying and all ...how many time i have asked you to not utter such things.....you know i cant imagine loosing you after baba left us- i told her remembering my father.i don't usually express my self but my mother is an exception.she reads me like an open book.
Ok I won't say anything but just think about it once bache....it's not like i am getting you married tomorrow only....but can't you even try for your mother's sake.....she asked me cupping my face .
I hold her hand between my palms and looked into her eyes -"anything for you maa"
She suddenly exclaimed in happiness and hugged me tightly -mera bachaaa!!! I knew it you will never say no to your mother.
I smiled at her hugging her back .
Now go and sleep and let me find my daughter in law for you from tomorrow only- she patted my back and went towards her room looking all happy.
I shaked my head at her knowing very well that she won't back down now.
I went to my room ..took a shower and finally sleep englufed me the moment my back touched the soft mattress.
