chapter 37

Prathiba and Abha were in kitchen busy with the preparation as Singhania's were comming to the Dinner.
Surekha was in the living room waiting her drama serial.
Adhyay returned back home just and sat in the living area exhausted. He was having a headache so he leaned back closing his eyes. Abha felt bad looking at him like this. He was over working himself skipping meals and not taking care about his health. She knew he wouldn't like her presence so she looked at prathiba who nodded her head with a sad smile.
Prathiba walked out and caressed his hair.he open his eyes feeling his mother touch and smiled lightly making her sit beside him and laying his head in her lap.
He inhaled deeply basking in his mother's warmth.she was the only relief amidst of the chaos in his Life.
Prathiba's heart ached looking at her brave son's drained self. She would never forgive Arohi for breaking their trust for breaking her son like this.
She ran her fingers in his hairs making him sleepy but they need to get ready as Singhania's would be here soon.
She asked him to to his room and get changed.
He obliged standing up. Abha followed him in their room to get ready herself and to take out his things as he would not ask her anything himself.
He was in the bathroom meanwhile she kept his things on the bed and took out her clothes from closet.
He walked out not bothering to look at her and started to dress up. Abha walked into the bathroom and changed her clothes. He was all ready and was talking with Arjun as shekhawat family was also coming.
Prathiba had already informed Sadhna in the morning about everything. Sadhna was disappointed too with  Abha and Arohi.
Abha got ready and turned towards Adhyay who just disconnected the call.
She looked at him with moist eyes making him huff. He looked at her sternly saying-plaster a smile on your face in front of the guest I don't won't any more drama downstairs and people to gossip around. You are expert in faking things ,so i don't think that would be a problem for you.
He left the room banging the door making her shed tears. She cried in her palms not knowing what do for his forgiveness.
She heard a knock on the door and Maya peeped in. Abha looked at her best friend with red swollen eyes. Maya looked at Abha's teary state and engulfed her in a bone crushing hug coming towards the bed.
Abha cried harder in Maya's arms.maya made her drink some water and asked her to calm down. She will fall ill if she continued crying at this rate.
What should I do maya. He is not talking to me.he behaves like i don't even exist.
I know i have made a mistake but I can't bear his ignorance.Its killing me inside . How do I make him believe that i didn't do anything purposely..Abha asked Maya in a broken State.
It's ok Abha I understand but give him some time .he himself is not in his best state. Even Arjun was gloomy after he came back after meeting Adhyay . He didn't told me anything but i knew that he was very tensed .
Now wash your face and make yourself presentable. We need to be downstairs before singhania's arrive.
Abha nodded fixing herself and they both walked out to reach downstairs.
Abha met her family. Arjun didn't looked at her as he was angry at her for hurting his best friend and brother.
Shekhar just patted her head with a node.
Sadhna and prathiba were in kitchen instructing house help and maya joined them.
Abha walked to Arohi's room who was sitting on the bed ready with nervousness on her face. Abha assured her that everything will be fine as the worst had already happened and asked her to calm down.

Rathore and shekhawat family welcomed singhania's.
,Mr.prakash Singhania,Ruhaan , his sister Shivani  (also Arohi's best friend) and Mrs. Pavitra singhania ( mother)who was a social worker had come for the dinner and discuss about the marriage.
They sat in the living room, maid served the refreshments. Shekhar and prakash were discussing about some business stuff. The ladies were busy in themselves.
Ruhaan talked with Arjun while Adhyay sat there silently passing a glare to Ruhaan every now and then .
Mr. Prakash then cleared his throat gaining their attention and asked about Arohi. Abha went to Arohi's room and walked her out . Arohi greeted everyone politely and sat beside mrs . Pavitra who hugged her immediately praising her Beauty.
Arohi smiled slightly looking at her lap not meeting anyone's gaze. Ruhaan was looking at Arohi continuously, Adhyay cleared his throat and glared at Ruhaan when he looked at him .

Later they discussed about the wedding and pavita suggested to get them engaged now only as they came fully prepared.
Adhyay looked at his mother who nodded her head at him and they proceeded with it.
Ruhaan and Arohi were made to sit beside each other. Pavitra covered Arohi's head with a Red dupatta and gave her some gifts. Prathiba also put a Tilak on Ruhaan forehead giving him shagun followed by other members.
Pavitra then forward their ancestral ring to Ruhaan who took it and slides it in Arohi's middle finger.
Abha gave the ring to Arohi and she did the same.
Everybody blessed them and congratulated each other feeding sweets.
Adhyay stood there faking a small smile occassionally.
He had not dreamt of her sister marriage like this. He wanted to do everything in a best way possible but not everything happens as per our wants.
He missed his father today more than ever.
They all sat for the dinner chit chatting. Abha and maya were serving them with the help of house help.
When Abha came to Adhyay to serve him food he showed his hand ✋ making her stop. She felt hurt but she deserves it.
She backed away and rushed inside the kitchen excusing herself as tears struggled to fall from her eyes.
