"Oh, my fucking God, it must be amazing to be rich," Michael breathed as he ran his fingers over the covers of dozens and dozens and dozens of video games. More video games than he could play even if he was able to live a full life. They lined an entire wall, like a library of just games. Michael was sure he'd died and gone to Heaven.

"It has its perks." Ashton grinned without looking at Michael, too busy studying the back of one of the game's cases. He hummed quietly. "I didn't even know I had this one."

Michael studied the spines of the cases upon cases, figuring he'd better pick a good one considering it could very well be his last. He contemplated going for one of the newer, more expensive ones, but ultimately found himself wandering back to one he just couldn't bring himself to pass by.

"Really?" Ashton scoffed upon glancing over and finding Michael cradling a well-loved case that someone had spent a long time messing with, even if it apparently wasn't Ashton. "Fifa? Of everything in here, that's what you're going with?"

Michael became defensive, puffing out his chest and taking a firm stance. "Yes, it is. Do you have a problem with Fifa?"

"Other than it's boring, simple, and absolutely pointless?"

Michael narrowed his eyes, suddenly understanding the unbridled rage Zayn had towards this imbecile of a child. He kept his cool, though, simply huffing under his breath that Ashton could stick it where the sun doesn't shine as he pulled the disc out of its case.

"Well, I'm dying today. You can play your other better games tomorrow once I'm too dead to care."

Ashton soluted mockingly. "Yes, sir." He followed Michael over to the couch where Calum and Niall were already sitting and chatting. Michael went over to put the game into the console as Ashton took a seat next to Niall. He could hear the boy muttering to the pair that they were going to play a 'stupid game' but Michael pointedly ignored the remark he was surely supposed to hear and took a seat to Calum's right, with Ashton on his left. He could smell the guy's cologne - sandalwood, maybe - but he could really smell the smoky fragrance cigarettes left behind. Normally, Michael hated that smell (it made him nauseous), but, somehow, mixed with the cologne, it was somewhat appealing. Not sweet, really, but rich and sharp. Something like the scent of a bonfire.

"Are you gonna play your stupid game or are you just gonna sit there?" Ashton inquired, seemingly amused by the way Michael had zoned out, which, honestly, left Michael quite relieved that he was dying because at least he wouldn't have to deal with the embarrassment of that.

"Yeah, I'm gonna play," he grumbled, snatching a controller off of the coffee table. Calum did the same, but Niall and Ashton stayed where they were. Michael watched the black-haired boy with a furrowed brow. "Aren't you gonna play?"
