Amelia looked up at the dark and ominous clouds that had engulfed the whole sky in a complete darkness and were ready to shower ruthless rain on the world. The thunder roared in the sky and gave a few seconds of light in their wake.

Anyone could tell a severe storm was brewing. And in no minute the whole world will get hit with a ruthless storm drenching everyone who comes in their contact.

A water dropped on Amelia's forehead. Her eyes blank as she tries to reason what she saw minutes ago in the party and whatever she saw was reality and not her mind playing games just like how it played when he left her. Because she had forgotten his face. She has forgotten the texture, the curves, the slopes of his face. She believed that she would not recognise him even if he passed by her in a crowded place. He would be like a stranger to her. But how wrong she was. It took her a few seconds to recognise his face.

She was not ready for this. She never was and this incident was proof of that. She had gotten accustomed to her life but now it is ruined just because of his one glimpse.

Her body tensed up when she felt his eyes on her. She can never forget the sensation of his gaze. Her stomach turning and churning in a knot. She gulped down the knot that had formed in her neck.

His gaze had always given butterflies in her belly in the past but now all she could feel was some heaviness, hate and mostly hurt.

Another water dropped on her cheek and in no minute sharp water drops started falling on her. She closed her eyes as she let herself get drenched under the shower.

"You will get sick."

Instantly her heart quivered in pain as soon as her ear took on his gruff voice amidst the ruthless rain. She clenched her palm in a fist. Her body tensed up when she felt him behind her.

Her body became aware of his presence behind her as his body emitted a very familiar warmth. Her body could recognise that warmth even after so many years. How traitorious of her body as it remembers the person who gave her the most pain.

She was second away from leaning into him and that thought only welled up more tears in her eyes. Even if he was the one that induced the most pain, her body still wants to lean on him as if he is her safe zone.

Really habits can be hard to leave. And it's her habit to lean on him whenever he is close to her. It was always her clinging to him.

"Let's go otherwise you really will get sick."

A shiver ran down her spine when his warm breath tickled the top of her head. She folded her arms in front of her chest and tried to make her feel safe. She hated acting this way. She should just behave as if she doesn't know who he is.

And who is she kidding? She really didn't know the real him all those months. It was all a facade just like his care for her. It was all a lie just like his lov–

Amelia clenched her forearm tightly.

He never professed his love. It was always her. Then how did her stupid heart believe that he did?

She smiled with tears brewing in her eyes. A melancholy smile. How calmly he is talking to her. There is no quiver, no awkwardness, no sadness in his voice, there is nothing. It's as if they were normal.

She swiveled and looked at him. His broad chest cladded in a drenched white shirt and coat.

And unknowingly she got a sudden memory of the tattoo on his chest as she had made him get a tattoo forcefully even though he hated the name of tattoos. But his chest was bare and more tears bubbled in her eyes. But she controlled as she looked up with that smile still intact on her face.
