Chapter 34

Amelia POV

In the evening when Luke returns. I was all ready adoring a satin green dress with a small strap around my shoulders holding the dress up. My back was all bare. 

A thin gold chain adorned my bare spine. Both the ends of the chain were split in two. One end was tied around my thin belly while the other end around my neck.

It was an accessory which was gifted to me after I had modelled for it.

A shiver of cold runs down my spine when the cold texture of the chain caresses my bare spine. 

As he gets himself ready in a green suit, I wait for him in the bed. My mind is still full with the thoughts of what happened this morning.

“Amelia.”

“Huh.” I blink my eyes and look at Luke through his reflection on the dressing table. His eyes are already on my reflection.

“We will have to cancel our outing.” He informs me.

“Why?” I am a little sad. Since I started working with Luke I have travelled to various places. The scenes and places that I had only heard or seen online, I could see in real life.

“I just received a call and Rani Maa wants me to have dinner with her.” He says. “So we will have to go there today.” i frown in confusion.

Who is Rani Maa?

Taking on my confusion he answers, “She is king Agastya's mother, Adhira Randhwa. She is like a mother to me as well.” 

Instantly my face turns sour.

“Can't we not go? I really don't wanna go.” I say. I really don't want to see that man's face. 

“Baby I also don't want to go.” Luke replies. A look of annoyance on his face. “But we have to. They are royals. They are the most influential family of India, even the world. We can't afford to anger them. They are also like a family to me. If I don't go, mom will be disappointed. Please endure it for me.”

He looks at me through his puppy eyes. I get up and walk to him. He turns. I halt before him and start trying his tie as I say, “Okay. But just for Scarlett.” 

I have a soft corner for Luke's family. They are adorable. An ideal family. I really want something like them.

“Thankyou.” he hugs me.

“I am tying your tie, Luke, stand straight.” I shout annoyed. He instantly moves back and apologises. I just roll my eyes. And I had to start from the start to tie the tie to perfection. 

After done with the tie, he sits down and starts wearing his shoes.

He gets on his feet. I gasp in surprise when he hitches me to his side by my small belly and whispers in my ear, “You look appetising.”

I slap his palm on my belly and step away from him. “Keep your hands to yourself, gentleman.” I remark while looking at him from over my shoulder. I start walking ahead.

We never had gone past the touching and kissing in these one and half years of our relationship. It was Luke who didn't want to move things up.

“Aye aye princess.”

I halt. My face turns sour.

My princess.

Luke stops beside me. I look up at him and tell him seriously. “Don't ever call me that. Ever.”

He instantly raises both his hands up in defence as he says, “Okay, my lioness.”

I sign and walk towards the elevator. We reach downstairs and get inside the car.
