They didn't speak for much longer, but he did make her promise that they could at the very least text once in a while.

Yuzuru just wanted to keep contact with her, it didn't even matter what they would talk about. As long as he could speak to her, he was happy.

Now that they both understand the reasoning behind the loss of contact, everything was as it used to be.

Well, everything except the fact that they couldn't speak constantly or video call all the time, even if they ended up risking it every once in a while when she couldn't sleep at night.

Athena was at the balcony as usual, the place was now her refuge and since her room was far away from everyone else's, there was no risk either.

The only downside was that she had to put up with the cold night temperatures while they talked. Worth everything if you were to ask her.

Yuzuru had just recently been allowed to walk and was focusing on physiotherapy. They still weren't sure if he was going to be able to even go to the Olympics but he wasn't going to give up without a fight.

Athena smiled as his face graced her screen.

It felt like she hadn't seen him in forever and his beautiful, handsome face was a sight for sore eyes.

"Hey, Zu."

"You look beautiful, I almost forgot how beautiful you were."

And there it was, his ability to make her blush immediately as if she was a schoolgirl in her teens. Well, this was the man responsible for taking her virginity so in a way, it seemed natural.

"How have you been?"

"Bored. I just want to get back on the ice."

"What's new?" She joked.

"That I can finally speak to you again."

"I feel like I can't apologize enough."

"It's not your fault, love. I'm just thankful that you managed this way for us to speak."

"Yeah, it wasn't easy. I have to thank Joanna for all of this."

"Joanna?"

"My maid. She was the one that bought it for me the last time we were out of the country."

"Remind me to thank her once I have a chance to meet our hero."

"Oh, she would love that."

"Yeah?"

"She was the one that introduced me to figure skating so..."

"A fan of mine?"

"Everyone is your fan, baby."

He smiled back at her in such a way that made her shiver.

God, she missed him so much.

If anything, this call only made her crave more of his touch, she eagerly remembered the night at the hotel and how good everything had felt. Athena would give anything to feel it all again, her body had been anxiously craving for a release that she couldn't give herself.

"You're a million miles away."

"Sorry."

"What's on that gorgeous brain of yours?"

"I was just remembering something."

"Something? Want to share?"

"Just the last night at the hotel"

Yuzuru took a few seconds to understand what she was saying but quickly understood what she meant.

"Oh!"

Athena chucked at her screen because of his reaction, it was unbelievable to her how he could be so intense when they turned the mood on and how innocent he looked now.

"Yeah."

"You miss it?"

"Do you even have to ask?"

"I wish we could have it all over again."

"Maybe we can."

"Aren't they watching you like hawks?"

"Yes... But there's something I want to talk to you about."

"I'm all ears."

Athena quickly told him about what Joanna had hinted about, that maybe if the relationship was public and everyone knew the circumstances, the story couldn't be twisted as they wanted to make him look bad. Maybe they could do this if they were careful enough.

"But I don't want to pressure you into anything."

"Let's do it!"

"Yuzu!?"

"I mean it. I will try anything."

"Not now!"

"What do you mean? You're the one suggesting it."

"I know... But not now. After the Olympics."

"Thea..."

"No, Yuzu. I want you to be focused and not have anything else to deal with. Your injury is bad enough."

"You're not a distraction. Haven't I shown you that at Worlds?"

"Yes. But the media and the mess this all will cause will be distractions."

He had to admit she had a point. There was a big chance that everyone's eyes would already be on him at the Olympics, the last thing he needed was a mess with the media to deal with while he tried to give his best performance.

"Ok. After the Olympics."

Athena smiled widely at him. She had no plans to share this idea with him, but then again, she had no plans to talk to him directly just a few days ago.

"Yes!"

She yawned softly, it was now incredibly late for her but she didn't want to say goodbye just yet.

"Go get some rest, love."

"But I want to keep talking with you..."

"We will have more than enough opportunities to be together and speak again, my princess."

"You promise?"

"Yes"

They said their goodbyes with wide smiles and grinning expressions. As sad as it was to say goodbye, the prospect of doing this again soon made it all better.

For the first time in months, the princess had something to look forward to.

Her schedule was filled to the brim but none of it caused the same satisfaction that just a few minutes of speaking with him did.

Traveling around the world was fun, but it lost its magic a long time ago. It's just that having someone to share the travels with makes everything far more meaningful and fun.

Athena looked at her agenda as she entered her room again. Marked on the calendar with a big x was a very special week for her in July, it had been scheduled even before speaking to him again.

It had been hard to book the trip, her mother didn't approve but someone had to go. The event was by direct invite of the Prince of Japan and the Prime Minister. Let's just say that it was an offer that her family couldn't refuse.

Traveling to Japan was exciting, even if it was an official event. It allowed her to be closer and who knows... Maybe this would be an opportunity for a well-deserved and anticipated reunion.
