You walked down to the pizzaplex with your job application. You were going to find out just what happened to those kids all those years ago.
You walked in and looked around for an employee. Or the fox animatronic your grandma claimed her dead daughter possessed.
You saw posters of her, she looked so happy in them. But you knew better. The soul of an innocent little girl was trapped in there. You were going to find out just what exactly happened to her and all the other children.
You suddenly spotted a blonde girl in a uniform. You quickly walked over to her.
"Um, hi! I'm here for the interview." You explained.
She looked you up and down, clearly uninterested.
"Yeah, ok. Follow me." She started walking and you followed her quickly, trying to keep up.
You walked in an awkward silence for a moment. You finally cleared your throat.
"Soooo, what's your name?" You asked politely. "Vanessa." She answered almost immediately. "Vanessa? That's a nice name. I'm y/n... um, you wouldn't happen to know anything about the missing kids from the old restaurants, would you?" You suddenly asked.
"Wow, way to start a conversation, y/n." You internally cursed at yourself.
She stopped dead in her tracks.
"There's no more missing kids. The company's gone in a completely different direction. And if you don't mind, it's rude to talk about that here." She spat.
"Sorry. Um, if you don't mind me asking, what about the fox animatronic? Is she around? She's really old, isn't she? She was from the very first restaurant, right?" You looked around for a glimpse of her.
"Yeah, she was. They fixed her up well. Listen, that one's a bit twitchy, we recommend you stay away from her. She doesn't interact well with the staff. Guess it's her old programming." She muttered.
"Anyway, we're here." She gestured to a door and started to walk away.
"Oh. Thanks!" You called to her. "Don't mention it." Her voice was coated with annoyance.
You opened the door to see a man sitting at the desk, busily filling out paperwork.
"Um, hi? I'm y/n l/n. I'm here for the job interview." You waved shyly.
"Ah, yes. Come in." He waved you over. "Now, we are very short on staff, and seeing as you had the proper work experience on your resume, we're going to go ahead and give you a basic job. Is that okay?"
"Damn, that easy?"
"Sure! What am I going to be doing?" You asked eagerly. "You are going to be the daycare assistant."
"Oh."
"The attendant is doing a wonderful job, but their are just so many children, it's hard for him to keep up. It's going to be your job to deal with all the extra stuff. Think you can handle that?"
"Yes, sir." You nodded. "Perfect! You can start on Sunday. Be here by 6:00 am." He held out his hand. You nodded, shaking it.
On your way out you swore you saw a figure out of the corner of your eye. It looked almost like someone in a rabbit costume. You immediately dismissed it as your imagination.
