MMMM ANGST

"Pardon?! You're telling me you actually went to the Dwarfs' Mine in search of a magestone?" Crowley yelled in genuine shock, confusing the teens and monster. They all looked at each other before facing Crowley and nodding. "Uh...? Yes?"

"I didn't expect that you'd seriously do it. And never in my wildest imaginings did I think you would actually return with a magestone! And here I spent all evening preparing your expulsion documents." They all blanched at Crowley before Grim started yelling at him. "Are you serious?! While we were fightin' some crazy monster for you, you were expelling us?!"

Now the monster bit caught Crowley's attention. "Monster?" He looked over at Perci and Gale, who simply shrugged. "Wasn't one of ours." Was all Perci said, now in a much better mood than this morning.

Ace nodded. "Yeah. There was a monster, all right. A big, nasty one. It nearly killed us!" A shudder ran down his spine.

"Would you kindly relate this story in full?" Crowley asked. Gale had decided that, since she was apparently the least shaken up about the events, she would tell the story on their way to Crowley's office.

"...then I had no other choice to bring out Charizard." She spoke, and Crowley tilted his head inquisitively. "Your dragon, yes?" Gale glared. "For the last time, not a dragon."

"How is that thing not a dragon!?" Deuce blurted out in shock and Gale shrugged. "He just isn't classified as one." She pulled her Pokedex out of her bag and brought up Charizard's dex entry.

"Charizard, the Flame Pokemon, and the evolved form of Charmeleon. A Fire/Flying-type. When expelling fire, the flame on its tail burns intensely. It can fly at altitudes of over 4 thousand feet."

"I mean..." Gale continued to speak. "...Mega Charizard X changes that Flying-typing to dragon, but I don't have a Mega Charizard X, so..." Gale looked somewhat uncomfortable bringing that up, but no one really noticed.

"Seriously, that thing's scary and impressive. I don't wanna get on its bad side." Ace whined. He's already in Gale's bad favours, he doesn't want to see what happens when her most ferocious monster was in a bad mood with him.

"Dracaufeu n'est pas une chose" Gale grumbled to herself. Deciding that Gale wasn't going to continue because of Ace, Perci spoke up. "Charizard put up a really good fight against the monster. While they were fighting it..."

~JUST THE BEGINNING~

"And that's how we got this crystal." Perci finished the story, now with all of them in Crowley's office.

Crowley nodded in understanding and hummed to himself. "Hmmm. So a mysterious monster was living in the mines. And the five of you worked together to destroy it, and then brought its magestone back to me?"

"Six." Gale blurted out, eyes narrowed. "Ah yes, my apologies." Crowley didn't sound sorry, but Gale decided to just let it slide.

"I don't know that I'd call it "working together."" Ace said uncomfortably. Deuce nodded along. "It was more like we just happened to share the same goal at the same time..."
