ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 7: ᴀɢʀᴇᴇᴍᴇɴᴛꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʀɢᴜᴇᴍᴇɴᴛꜱ

She opened her mouth "What's going on"

"Well, "Takahashi started, not noticing Shinobu, who looked ready to pull out his eyes, mouth 'Run'

"I was looking for a new bride, and me, my parents, and yours agree that this is perfect." He said smiling.

Kanae couldn't belive it, she was thinking, maybe even crushing on Sanemi, while this man, who seemed powerful and mighty, was crushing on her.

Something in his smile scared her, like something was behind the kind attitude and overdoes of affection and smiles.

Kanae then knew she made the biggest mistake by not running out.

Kanae sat in her beeautiful living room, at a loss for words. Despite the rather loud chatter, she heard none of it, too deep in her thoughts.

What had happened? She had only talked to him once, ONCE, and now he wanted to marry her!

She would never! This woud never happen!

"Kanae-chan, " Takahashi said, noticing her uncomfortable expression "Would you like to take a walk?" he asked innocently.

"Yes, " Kanae said, knowing reason was the only way out.

He got up and swiftly took her hand. They both walked out on their smirking families, believeing it to be true love, when it infact wasn't.

The made it to the outside and walked in pure silence, the crickets chirping and the rock-covered walkway sqeaking.

"Kanae," he said, ten minutes of pure silence broken.

"Yes?" she replied.

"Nothing will save you from becoming my wife, not that it is much of saving."

Kanae took this in, fury boiling in her very core. She rarely felt like this. It was scary and strange.

"But I don't love you, nor know you. And I'll tell everyone who will listen to me." She replied bravely.

He looked at her, a scary expression, his frame looming over her's. Then, his cuddly smile returned.

"I'll bring shame to your family if you dare tell a soul," He said, still smiling despite his angry voice, a signature feature of Shinobu "Oh, and, You'll love me by then" He walked ahead.

"Why do you want to marry me! " She yelled to him, worried.

He laughed, "You'll see"

Kanae's eyes widened in horror, causing him to smirk.

This wasn't about her feelings anymore, this was about her family.

If she tried, she'd ruin Shinobu's life, and her parents remaing life too.

She gave up decided to let it flow.

She told her heart to tell her Takahashi's name, and know only his.

'Sanemi' It whispered.

Kanae tried harder, but no different results came.

Kanae stood there, a mix of shock and horror in her face

Kanae loved someone else, but that wouldn't work out.

So she had to let go.

She caught up with Takahashi, and they both walked inside.

As their parents gushed about them, Kanae ran to Shinobu, and hugged her tight. Shinobu hugged back quickly, then took her hand, brought her to her room, and slammed the door shut.

Takahashi would've banged on the doors if their parents weren't around.

Sanemi bolted up in a pool of sweat, painting and teary-eye'd.

He slowed his breathing, assuring himself that it was alright, and It was in the past.

He didn't hate himself, not anymore.

Sanemi sat there quietly as Kyogo scolded him, silently praying his thanks that he wasn't being brutally beaten.

"Sanemi, why'd you try to hang yourself? " His 'father' at him, throwing his tenth bottle at him, bearly missing him. Sanemi didn't flinch. "BE A GOD DAMN MAN FOR ONCE"

He got pissed off, mad that Sanemi didn't fear him. He walked up, and yanked his hair . Sanemi, who rather liked his hair unpulled, stood up quickly.

"Answer the question" He said in a quiet, yet scary tone. "Why did you try that?" He picked up the noose and flung it against the wall.

"I don't like myself" he replied quietly. 

"WELL FUCK THAT!" His father belowed, hands throwing his son against the wall. "This is why no one will love a weak, starved, annoying, skinny, fuck-face like you"

He then held him by the throat.

"You're my oldest son! Do I want people to ask 'what happened to you're son?' I have to tell them ''he was a wimp and hung himself! Do You wanna embaress me like that?" He slurred.

Sanemi shook his head.

Kyogo sighed angryly, letting go of his son and looked down at him

"You disappoint me," he said coolly to his gagging son.

"A beating will surely fix that" he said raising his hand.

Sanemi heaved for air, the memory alone making him feel suffocated. He felt the same thoughts he used to think rush in, making him want to hurt himself again. then he remebered what his mom told him shortly after the scene, treating his wounds as much as possible:

"There will always be someone who will risk their life, happinese, and freedom for you."

He got up, walking towards the door. 

He decided to get some water. 

He cracked open the door, expecting warm air,  but felt some chill instead. He shivered, despite his long pajamas.

He yawned, annoyed. The house was beautiful, yes, but it was more of a maze than a house. 

He suddenly felt no more will to move, and turned back to his room, not even ten steps away.

He closed the door and sighed with pleasure, feeling the warm air around his shivering body. He layed back down in bed, and felt himself start to wonder. Who was right? 

His mom or his dad?

While these words both fought to become his mind set, he started to drift into unconcisness. He would think about his life and the way he lived it tommorow. 

As he started to fall asleep, Kanae was chugging coffee with Shinobu, prepared to start something that would stop this unwanted marrige on it's heels.
