Parents (Ranpoe)

Anyway basically Poes went back to America to go visit his family and Ranpo decided to tag along and yeah his past. Also they are together in this, and by together I mean there engaged.

-no one's pov- 

"Hey Ed, do you think that penguins have knees" Ranpo asked his head dangling from the couch (they actually do have knees don't believe me look it up it's a fact the just hide it his how fat and hairy they are)

Poe didn't respond, he just looked at his phone

"Hello Ed, did you hear me" Ranpo asked again

"Huh oh yeah sure. I'm gonna go in a walk, I'll be back Ranpo" he said as he grabbed his coat and keys and walked out the door 

"He's acting a weird isn't he Karl" Ranpo said petting the raccoon 

"Let's go follow him Karl" he said and got up from the couch and Karl jumped on his shoulders

-poes pov- 

-ugh good you gotta be kidding me, they want me to go to America- 

-that's stupid, I can't just drop everything to go visit them. God he better answer soon, I need to know what's going to happen if mom and dad are coming- 

"Ugh this sucks" I said leaning over the dock railing (idk)

"Hey Ed there you are, I've been looking for you" I hear a familiar voice call out to me

"R-Ranpo what are you doing  here" I ask 

"You were acting weird so I wanted to make sure you're okay, sooo are you" Ranpo said standing next to me

"I'm fine I'm just a bit um tired that's all" I said looking over the dock thing idk 

"That's a very obvious lie Poe-kun, come on just tell me or I'll use ultra-deduction" he said/threatened 

"Ugh fine, we'll the thing is my p-parents want m-me to go to America for my older brother's wedding" I reply 

"YOU HAVE AN OLDER BROTHER" Ranpo pretty much screamed in my ear

"Yeah, I didn't know it was that surprising" I said calmly 

"I guess I just like kind assumed you were like one of those rich and snobby only children" Ranpo said 

"I-I don't know how to interpret that, though I would love to be an only child" I say rubbing the back of my neck 

"Unfortunately if I wanted to be an only child I'd have to get rid of my other 5 siblings" I add on 

"5 YOU HAVE FIVE SIBLINGS" Ranpo screamed 

"Y-yes" I said quietly 

"Damn and you never thought to tell this to your soon to be husband. Ugh I can't believe you" Ranpo said and leaned on my arm 

"Anyway why are you stressed out about going to America" Ranpo said petting Karl who was on his shoulder 

"Uhm well it's a long story but it's just it's um complicated" I say trying to find the right words but failing miserably 

-ranpo pov- 

-hmm there is definitely something wrong with his family if he doesn't want to go to them- I think to myself 

"Weeeellll if it's something that's stressing you out about going back to America why don't I go with you. Then maybe you'll feel better" I suggest holding his hand 

"NO" he screamed which caught me completely off guard 

"I-I m-mean that I-it's um it's just that I uh I really can't have you in Am-America with me" he stuttered 

"And why is that Edgar" I say using his first name to show that I really want to know 

"Ugh you know I have n-no way of not telling you when you say my name" he said blushing 

"So then tell me" I say 

-no one's pov-

"As much as I w-want to tell you I-I  can't say" Poe says 

"And why's that" Ranpo said confused 

"I just can't" he said 

There was a short silence before Ranpo spoke up 

"If you can't tell me, can I at least go with you" Ranpo asked

"I-I dont know about that" he said hesitantly 

"Please Poe, I'm doing you a favor for not using ultra deduction and figuring out what's wrong" he said

"Eh f-fine you can come but could you invite that doctor from the Ada" he said

"Why would I invite Yosano" Ranpo asked 

"Because you're gonna pretend to date her and I'll pretend to date Margaret or Louisa" he said 

"Hmm do I really want that... I don't know" Ranpo responded 

"Come on this is what you'll have to do to if you want to come with me" he responded 

"Fine but when are we going" he asked 

"Probably on July 19 and we come back on July 27" Poe said petting Karl

"But weren't we planning our wedding on July 25" Ranpo asked

"I-it's fine we'll do it when we come back" the author said 

"I don't know" Ranpo said 

"I'll let you eat as much junk and candy for the days we're over there" Poe said 

"DEAL" Ranpo said automatically 

"Ok but before that there's some things that we'll need to talk about" the raccoon owner said

"I'm not learning 'proper' etiquette, nor am I gonna act lovey dovey with Yosano" the detective said pulling a lollipop from his pocket 

"Ok fine you don't have to do that but try and at least hold back obnoxious comments and don't be rude in front of my parents" Poe pleaded

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'll trryyyy but no promises" the black haired detective said

"Alright thanks Ranpo" Poe said kissing Ranpo on the cheek 

After that they got up and walked back to Poes ✨ M A N S I O N ✨

Rewrote it because I didn't like the previous version, sorry haven't been posting lately just I got put in a summer program so yippee 😒. Anyway have a good morning/afternoon/night
