Today is Wednesday, which means it's PE day for the students. They headed to their lockers to retrieve their PE uniforms and change. Kim Sunoo, although not particularly fond of sports and easily gets tired, was amazed when he arrived at the field and witnessed the speed at which his classmates were running. They were engaged in a friendly competition, pushing each other to run faster.
As Sunoo was taking in the sight, he was startled by a voice coming from behind him. "Do you like guys who run fast?" It was Heeseung. Sunoo quickly turned around to see who had spoken, finding Heeseung standing there with a slightly puzzled expression while maintaining a neutral face.
"What do you mean?" Sunoo inquired, his confusion evident.
"Oh, nevermind," replied the taller guy, leaving Sunoo even more perplexed.
'Is he okay? He's acting a bit strange,' Sunoo thought to himself, deciding to shift his attention back to observing his classmates as they placed bets on who could run the fastest.
As Sunoo watched his classmates compete and bet on who could run the fastest, he found himself drawn to the excitement and energy of the race. Although he wasn't particularly athletic himself, he couldn't help but admire the dedication and skill displayed by his classmates as they sprinted across the field.
As the race progressed, Sunoo's attention shifted from the individual runners to the overall atmosphere. The cheers and encouragement from the spectators, the intense focus on the participants' faces, and the competitive spirit in the air created an exhilarating environment that Sunoo found himself getting caught up in.
Heeseung, who had initiated the conversation earlier, seemed to be engrossed in watching the race as well. Sunoo couldn't help but wonder why Heeseung had asked him about liking guys who run fast. It was a peculiar question that he couldn't make sense of, especially since he wasn't even sure what Heeseung meant by it.
Shrugging off his confusion, Sunoo decided to enjoy the moment and cheer for his classmates. Even though he might not be a fan of sports or possess the same level of athleticism as his peers, he appreciated the camaraderie and spirit of competition that PE brought to the school.
Jungwon approached Sunoo, with Heeseung standing by his side. Jungwon informed Sunoo and Heeseung that they should proceed to the basketball court as the game was about to start and they were short on players.
"How about you, Heeseung Lee? I heard that you're good at playing basketball," the Class President suggested.
Heeseung glanced at Sunoo, who was already looking at him. Sunoo smiled and nodded, offering his encouragement for Heeseung to join the game.
"I'm sure you'll do great. You have nothing to lose if you try," Sunoo said with a wide smile, his words filling Heeseung with a sense of warmth and reassurance. However, as Heeseung felt his heart racing, he couldn't help but question his own reaction.
'What's happening to me? Why is my heart beating fast as if it's broken?' Heeseung wondered, placing his hand over his chest, feeling the rapid thumping in his chest.
Heeseung took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He reminded himself that now was not the time for introspection. Instead, he needed to focus on the opportunity presented to him-to showcase his basketball skills and contribute to the game.
With a newfound determination, Heeseung squared his shoulders and met Sunoo's gaze once more. Whatever lay ahead, he knew that having Sunoo's support meant a lot to him, and he was ready to embrace the challenge on the basketball court.
"Okay, I'll play," Heeseung shyly said to Jungwon, mustering up the courage to step forward and accept the opportunity.
Jungwon smiled and patted Heeseung on the back. "That's the spirit! I'm glad you're joining in. We can use your skills out there," he said encouragingly.
"But Sunoo, I want you to cheer for me while I play." Heeseung requested, which shocked Sunoo. Heeseung looked directly into Sunoo's eyes, wearing a serious expression on his face.
'Why does he want me to cheer for him?' Kim Sunoo thought to himself.
"Should I make a banner then?" Sunoo innocently asked, which made Jungwon and Heeseung laugh due to his cuteness.
"It's up to you, Sunoo. If you want, I could help you," Jungwon suggested.
"No, guys, it's okay. As long as Sunoo cheers for me, I'll do great," Heeseung said, which made Sunoo blush. Meanwhile, Jungwon gave Sunoo a teasing stare.
Jungwon cleared his throat, capturing the attention of both of them. He smiled widely at them before excusing himself, asking if he could go to the gym alone. He explained that their teacher might be looking for him already and that he needed to inform the teacher about Heeseung joining the basketball game today.
