"Now please don't start singing the Circle Of Life," I told Tess, shaking my head.

"Now that you've brought it up," Tess replied, smirking, lifting the fruit basket over his head.

"No," I muttered, facepalming.

"Nants ingonyama bagithi baba sithi uhm- ingonyama 'Ngonyama 'ngengw'ebo!" he sang.

"I hate the fact that you actually learnt the language."

"Nants-"

"Stop. Please." I put a hand to my throat, imitating a choking sound. Three beads hung on my necklace. We were sitting at the Athena Table on the Fourth of July, waiting for the grand surprise. The others were just chilling around, laughing as we debated over the question- Why does Tarzan not have a beard in the movie?

Tess smirked, putting down the fruit basket. Mr. D didn't seem to mind all the commotion we were making.

"I can't believe you're the actual Head Counsellor, Tess," Ruby Wolfe, our sister told him. "You're too crazy for the job."

"Which is exactly why I'm the perfect fit," Tess replied, giving her a mischievous grin.

Ruby rolled her gray eyes. "I see why you hate being around him during dinner, Ari. He's a nuisance."

"And a menace to the society, yes," I said, sighing.

Ruby laughed. On her neck hung a necklace with two beads on them. The last two years had been marked by the continuous victory of the 'Allies,' the team of Athena, Hermes and Apollo during Capture the Flag. One of the beads had a painting of the three cabin symbols intertwined with each other, showing the strong bond between the cabins and the two year anniversary of their continuous victory.

The other bead was carved with the sign of a large boar, the one that Ethan had successfully managed to bring along with him to the camp as he finished his quest. The Camp had fought bravely against the unbeaten brown pig, and chased it away without a single casualty.

"Hey," Tess interrupted. "You don't have to be so mean. There's a fine line between genius and stupidity. The former has a limit."

"Agreed," Raymond Hue, a less seen Athena kid said. He'd only been at Camp once. "We just think you don't have a limit."

I laughed.

Tess pouted at once. "I hate all of you."

I leaned on his shoulder, laughing. "That's okay. We love you a lot."

And just as I had said it, Athena Cabin's newest invention, a collaboration with Hephaestus Cabin, went up in the sky.

Pure white fireworks went up into the sky, followed closely by red and blue. The words 'Happy Fourth of July' were shimmering in the sky. And then they disappeared.

"It's a simple design," I told Lee as he watched in delight. "I don't understand why scientists haven't figured it out yet."

"It took us three days to realize that the problem was not gunpowder," Tess said. "It's more of the angle-"

"Nope, not interested," Lee interrupted, staring at the sky.

Tess and I shrugged at each other, grinning.

"Ariana! Ariana!"

I woke up with a start. "Who- what-?" I stuttered.

And then I realized that it had just been a memory.

I sighed.

It was difficult to never not get a nightmare, but to get a good dream... it was almost impossible. Almost.
