The palace, Maiduguri.

Muhammad handed her the file he had brought, saying, "This is the information I have on her." Sarauniya accepted the file and quickly scanned through its contents before closing it with a sigh.

"Do you really want to go through with this, my son?" Sarauniya asked, her voice filled with concern.

Muhammad's determination shone in his eyes as he replied, "Yes, Mother. I am certain."

"Very well," she responded. "The elders will be here in two days. May Allah bless your intentions, my son."

As Muhammad left Sarauniya's chamber, he headed towards his own to freshen up and rest. He was jetlagged and couldn't wait to collapse onto his bed.

Amina's House.

Upon their arrival, Mino dashed inside like lightning, shouting at the top of her lungs, "Mom, we're back! Your babies are back!" She scurried to the kitchen, but their mother wasn't there. Mino then raced up to Umma's room, while Fatima decided to take their luggage to their own room before greeting their mother.

Mino knocked on Umma's door, greeted her with a quick "Salam," and entered. Hajiya Asiya was seated, engaged in her dhikr. Mino hugged her tightly, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I missed you so much, Mama," she whispered.

Hajiya Asiya embraced Mino, her eyes filled with love. "I missed you too, my baby. But where is your sister?" Hajiya Asiya inquired.

Mino pouted and whined, "I'm pouring out my feelings to you, and you're only concerned about Fatima!" Hajiya Asiya chuckled and replied, "It's not like that, my love. I missed her too."

With a smirk, Mino retorted, "I'll leave you two to have your moment then, since you don't love me anymore."

After freshening up, Fatima joined Umma. As she entered, she found Mino chattering away, and Umma sighing with a smile. Fatima couldn't help but tease Mino. "Mino, can you please be quiet for a while? Umma seems tired of hearing your loud voice."

Umma laughed, joining in on the playful banter. "Indeed, my daughter. I've been begging her for some time to be quiet, but she insists on talking like the parrot she is."

Fatima sat down near Umma and asked about her health and well-being. "I'm fine, my daughter," Umma responded. "How are you coping with school and adjusting to the new environment?"

"Alhamdulillah, I'm doing well," replied Fatima. "And where is Abba?" she inquired.

"He's on a trip, but he will be back tomorrow. Let's pray for his safe return," Umma said with a reassuring smile.

They continued their conversation, discussing various topics and catching up on each other's lives. After a few hours of chatting, they decided to call it a night and rest.

The next day, as expected, Abba returned home. Umma and Fatima prepared a delicious meal for him, which he enjoyed immensely. Abba expressed his admiration for the food, claiming it was the best he had ever tasted.

After dinner, they gathered in the living room to relax and talk. Abba cleared his throat, a serious look on his face. "I have something important to discuss with all of you," he began. "A marriage proposal has come for Fatima, and the groom's family will be visiting us tomorrow."

Fatima's eyes widened in surprise for a moment, but she quickly gathered herself. Abba continued, "I want you to think about it, my daughter. If you're worried about your education, don't be. We will continue to support your studies."

Fatima swallowed nervously, then mustered up her courage and said, "I am ready, Abba.  She thought to herself "They have taken me in, provided me with a home and education. How can I say no to them? I am prepared to do whatever is necessary for our family."

She turned to Umma and Abba with determination in her voice. "I'm ready. They can come."

With those words, the room fell silent for a moment, and then Umma and Abba exchanged glances filled with pride and love. They knew that Fatima's decision was selfless and rooted in gratitude.

The upcoming visit from the groom's family would mark a new chapter in Fatima's life. They embraced each other, united in their support for Fatima's choice, as wedding bells seemed to chime softly in the air.
