quinn shut off his phone after his conversation with luke ended. his cheeks were red and he was hoping nobody noticed. unfortunately, trevor made direct eye contact with him and was about to open his mouth when quinn gave him a 'i'll tell you later' look. that made trevor shut up. quinn was praying that trevor would forget this little moment so that he didn't have to explain himself later.

quinn, trevor, jamie, and delia were all back at trevor and jamie's hanging out once again. usually, quinn would be celebrating with his team, but considering he was leaving tomorrow morning, he wanted to spend more time with them. more specifically he wanted to spend more time with delia. she was just a great person to be around and quinn loved being in her company.

the four of them were drinking and talking about the most random things. no one was having a care in the world despite the fact two of them had just lost. trevor and jamie were sad that they lost, but they were having too much fun with quinn and delia to ponder it. the alcohol in their system also probably helped.

trevor had just made a joke about and everyone was laughing but delia. quinn noticed this for two reasons. one, he had been watching her the whole night and secondly, quinn didn't hear her angelical voice.  her eyes had been glued to her phone, completely missing trevor's joke. something was bothering her, quinn could tell.

"are you alright, delia?" quinn asked. the two other boys looked over towards delia. clearly, they had been in their own little world.

delia furrowed her eyebrows and replied, "uhh, actually no. i'm just a little confused."

"why, what happened?" jamie questioned. his voice was laced with protectiveness. jamie had always been protective but even more now since the breakup.

the brunette answered, "jack just texted me out of the blue." she wore a dead stare looking at the table. immediately, quinn was flooded with grief. he felt like this was his fault. he should have never led jack to think he could randomly text her.

"well, what did he say?" trevor was intrigued. yes, jack was trevor's best friend, but even trevor could recognize that jack had messed up. he also had no idea why jack was texting her either.

delia looked at all three boys before responding, "he asked how i was doing and if we could talk." trevor was shocked while jamie looked a bit pissed. quinn wore a neutral expression. delia continued, "now, usually i would think nothing of this, but i haven't talked to jack since i posted that picture of my brown hair. it just seems a little weird. is it weird or am i going crazy?"

"no, it is a bit weird. why now?" trevor questioned.

jamie rolled his eyes, "probably because he saw that quinn was hanging out with her." now everyone's attention fell unto quinn. they stared at him, waiting for him to say something, anything.

quinn played with his fingers under the table before breaking the silence, "well, he did text me to see if i was really with delia. he then asked if he should text to which i said that was his call to make." before anyone could add anything, quinn turned to delia to directly speak with her. he said, "delia, i am so sorry! i didn't think he was going to say that or make you uncomfortable!"

"it's okay, it's not your fault. i'm just a little surprised, you know. i guess i'll hear what he has to say," she smiled. delia was genuinely interested to see what jack had to say. she was hoping that it had nothing to do with them getting back together because that ship has sailed.

jamie spoke up, "you don't have to answer him if you don't want to. you're not obligated to."

"that's not on brand for delia. she's too nice to people to not answer them," trevor stated.

quinn jumped into the conversation again and told delia, "you really don't have to respond to him. i think he would understand if you didn't want to hear from him."

"i'll just answer him. and before any one of you tell me to be careful, i know. jack's not even a bad guy. it's not like he's going to hurt me," delia reassured them.

"okay, just let us know how it goes," jamie said.

trevor exclaimed, "yes! please keep us updated! i've been needing more tea in my life!"

delia rolled her eyes at her cousin's best friend. he sure was something else. she looked over at quinn and he had a sad expression. it quickly changed when quinn noticed her looking at him. instead, he gave her a comforting smile. she smiled back as she left the room. time to figure out what the hell jack wants.
