delia flew back to california a couple days after she spent the night with jack. she had to go back to the studio and write more songs for her upcoming album. she also had to visit her favorite cousin and go to one of his games. those were his exact words. her best friend, emery, was going to pick her up from the airport and then drive her to jamie's.

"emery, oh how i've missed you!" delia exclaimed as she gave her best friend a hug. emery was quick to hug delia back.

emery responded, "i missed you too! and as much as i would love to just stand here and chat, i don't want to deal with an angry jamie if you're not returned to him soon." delia knew she had a point and decided it was best to move towards emery's car.

they reached emery's car and threw delia's luggage in the trunk. once emery started driving towards jamie's, she asked, "so, how was jack and the game?"

delia stared at the road in front of her while staring, "the game was great. the devils won. jack is good, but i'm supposed to be meeting his entire family in a few weeks."

"wait, what!" emery screamed while turning her head to face delia. this almost caused emery to crash the car.

"please focus on the road, you don't need another car accident added to your record," delia said panicked.

emery directed her eyes back to the road and muttered, "fine, but you need to give me all the details."

"there's not much to tell. his mom asked if i was available to come see jack's game against his brother and then get dinner while i was there. i'm just a little scared because i've only met luke briefly. what if his parents don't like me and i make an idiot of myself?" delia sighed. she knew she was overthinking the situation, but couldn't stop her brain.

at this point, emery had just pulled up to jamie and trevor's place. emery parked the car and placed her hands on delia's. emery looked straight into delia's eyes and said, "delia, they are going to love you! if you're overthinking this situation, you need to let jack know. he can help you. remember that."

delia smiled, "why are you always right?"

emery hugged her again and joked, "it's a gift i have!" she then added, "now, go inside before jamie murders me."

delia grabbed her stuff from emery's trunk and waved her goodbye. as she watched emery drive away, she heard a high pitched yell coming from the front door. low and behold, trevor zegras was welcoming her back.

"oh my gosh, is the delia drysdale finally back!" trevor shouted. she rolled her eyes as she met him at the front door.

"hello to you too! where is my grumpy cousin hiding?" delia questioned.

"don't be rude to jimmy! he is not grumpy! i'm not telling you where he is now!" trevor childishly replied. he crossed his arms and started walking away. delia loved trevor but sometimes he was such a kid.

"jamie! where are you?" delia yelled throughout the house. suddenly, she heard the strumming of a guitar. it was coming from jamie's room and so she headed in that direction.

delia flew the door open and said, "some way to greet your favorite cousin." jamie turned around and gave her a smile.

"whoops," he told the blonde. he got up from his bed and pulled her into a hug. in that moment, trevor appeared in the doorway.

"aw, how sweet, a family reunion! any room for one more?" trevor grinned.

jamie and delia extended their arms and made room for trevor. jamie replied, "get in here, buddy!"

"the three musketeers have reunited at last!" trevor proclaimed. indeed, they had and delia no longer worried about jack and meeting his family. her mind was free.
