delia was currently facetiming jack since he had an off day. she had a couple of days before she was seeing jack again and a little over one week until she had to met his family. despite the fact that delia was still anxious about meeting his family, she felt a lot better about the situation after jack gave her list of conversation starters. she had been studying the topics over the last couple of days.

"are you feeling better about meeting my family now?" jack asked his girlfriend.

delia propped herself up on her arms and replied, "yeah, i feel a lot better about everything. i mean, i still want them to like me, but it's not consuming my thoughts."

"good, i'm glad! i don't like seeing you like that," jack smiled. he hated seeing her anxious and upset especially when he was thousands of miles away. it broke his heart.

delia assured him, "don't worry, i am not a hot mess anymore."

"you are hot," jack smirked. if delia was in person, she would have smacked him. since she could not physically smack him, she rolled her eyes despite the blush creeping up her face.

they stayed there for awhile, chatting about the most random things. they both missed each other a lot and cherished the times they got to talk with both of their busy schedules. while they were talking about mindless things, a question popped into delia's head.

"hey jack, quick question. where are we staying when we're in vancouver?" delia asked jack.

jack furrowed his eyebrows. he went back into his family groupchat since he forgot. "give me a second, it's somewhere in these messages," jack replied. he kept scrolling until he found his answer. jack added, "it appears that we are staying with quinn at his place as well as luke the night of the game, but we will be in a hotel the night we get in. is that okay with you?"

delia gulped and fake smiled, "yeah, as long as quinn is alright with everything. i wouldn't want to intrude."

jack could tell something was up, but knew delia would tell him if she wanted to. suddenly, nico hischier walked into the room and informed jack that they needed to leave soon. jack frowned and told him that he would meet nico downstairs.

"duty calls. i'll see you in a week though. oh and i'll text you quinn's number just so you have it," jack told delia.

delia responded, "okay sounds good! i can't wait!"

shortly after, jack hung up, leaving delia by herself. emery wasn't home, so she was alone. she was trying her hardest to not be bothered by staying at quinn's. delia felt like she was invading their family time. instead of overthinking the situation alone, she decided to call jamie.

the phone rang for what felt like forever until she heard a voice, "delia?"

"hey, jamie!" delia smiled hearing her cousin.

jamie sounded confused over the phone and asked, "what's going on? you never call me."

delia breathed heavily and rambled, "i just needed to talk to someone about something before i exploded. jack just told me that we're staying with quinn while we're in vancouver. i know it's probably silly, but i just feel like i'm intruding. i really want to make a good impression and i'm just freaking out. i know nothing about quinn and now i'm expected to stay at his place."

jamie was silent for a bit. he was thinking of the best response for his cousin. he told her, "delia, you need to think of this time as an opportunity to learn about jack's world. he's inviting you in and part of that means spending time with his brothers and parents. don't stress about it. they're going to love you!"

delia didn't know why she was getting so emotional. a tear had slipped from her eye and she quickly wiped it away and regained her composure. she laughed, "since when were you trying to steal cole's job?"

now it was jamie's turn to laugh, "he can have the job of being your therapist, i was just a temporary sub in."

"well, thank you! i appreciate you more than you know!" delia thanked her cousin. they weren't too close growing up, but their bond had gotten stronger over the last couple of years.

"any time dels! you know i'm always here for you!" jamie returned.

they got off the phone and she laid in bed. she began thinking about jack and how lucky she was to have him. she was ready to face her fear.
