Shem was not having the best of days. He'd been sleep-deprived for days from pulling off several all-nighters to catch up on their investigation after he'd put it off for a week in order to finish his finals. Sumabay pa ang paghahanda nila para sa panibagong production. Ngayong linggo lang siya makakapagpahinga. Which, of course, meant he was going to be called to fill in for someone absent at work today.
It wasn't so bad, in all honesty. Mabilis namang natapos ni Shem ang mga dapat niyang gawin kaya ngayon, kahit papaano'y pwede na siyang umidlip sandali.
Ngunit hindi pa nga siya nakakapikit ng isang minuto, halos mapamura si Shem nang paulit-ulit na tumunog ang kanyang cellphone na nasa loob ng drawer ng kanyang desk. Noong una'y sinubukan niya lang itong balewalain. Subalit nang hindi tumigil ang pagpasok ng mga notifications, namayani na ang kanyang kuryosidad sa kabila ng kanyang antok.
Rubbing his strained eyes, Shem reached for his cellphone and, as expected, their group chat was just as chaotic as it would've been if they were all taking to each other face to face. Still, his sleepiness all but disappeared once he understood what the commotion was all about.
