This is a story that is based on the movie After but with all the characters from heartstopper, then Charlie is Tessa and Nick is Hardin.

It's just a normal day at the Truham Grammar boys school. There are the rugby lads taking over the whole school gate trowing school papers and some other weird stuff at younger students trying to get to their lesson. There is also a 'non-popular' group who are just living their life.
Charlie Spring is one of those students. He is not normal like the other non-popular children. Charlie the small 16 year old boy with dark messy curly hair is being bullied for being gay. He came out a few months ago, only to his friends but somehow it got spread around the whole school. Just like everyone else Charlie needs to pass the gate too. It is a little bit harder because of the bullying. Yesterday they spilled inkt over his whole uniform, on purpose.
Charlie walks with his head down trying to stay out of sight. But Harry Green, a really small arrogant rugby lad, spots Charlie in the crowd. "There is the big faggot." He yells over the crowd. Everyone looks at Charlie confused and disgusted. Harry who was sitting on top of a picknick table jumps up and walks towards Charlie. He has his lemon juice in his hand. Charlie who is now walking in a speed trying to avoid Harry gets grabbed under his arms by two other guys on the rugby team. Charlie has a terrified look on his face. He can't move. Harry opens the bottle of lemon juice and let it fall over Charlie's hair until it gets in his eyes. "Alright let him go." The guys who hold Charlie now let him go and Charlie drops on the floor. They all laugh. Charlie stumbles and gets up. He can't hold himself and starts crying. That makes the boys laugh ever more. Charlie doesn't look up until he is past the group of people looking and pointing to Charlie whispering behind him. He looks back, he sees a guy sitting on the same table but he's looking down, like he's disappointed, and he's not laughing with the rest of the guys. Weird.

This sounds like hell, but this is just a normal day for Charlie. When he is inside school he meets up with his only friend: Tao Xu. He is a very tall skinny guy. He is funny and very protective of Charlie. "Where they being dicks again?" Tao ask looking at Charlie's face. He looks up and down at Charlie's uniform. "What is in your hair?" "Lemon juice." Tao sighs. "Let's find a bathroom." They spend a couple minutes trying to get the lemon juice out of Charlie's hair with water and paper towels. His uniform sticks and smells but he just needs to live with that. They go to the lessons they have together but then still have to split up because they don't have every lesson together. At lunch Charlie goes to his favorite teacher's classroom. Mr. Ajayi is Charlie's favorite teacher because he helped Charlie a lot with bulling and being gay. Mr. Ajayi is not in the classroom but there is a girl that Charlie is kind of friends with. She is working on a big landscape painting and she even spends her break time on it. Her name is Elle. She is the only girl at truham. She is a trans girl actually. Charlie really likes her and tells her all about the bullying and they talk about how hard coming out is.

after the lunch break Charlie decided to walk to his locker to grab the books he needs for the lessons after. He walks to his locker and opens it. He puts the books he doesn't need inside and he puts the books he needs in his bag. He isn't paying attention to his surroundings and bumps into someone. "I'm sorry." He says not even looking up. "Oh no problem." Charlie decides to do look up and look at the guy he just bumped into. He looks up and meets the eyes of the guy he saw sitting on the table. He has dark blond hair. He has gorgeous brown eyes, they twinkle a bit in the light. Charlie can't lie and he is a little bit overwhelmed by them. "Uhm your name is Charlie, right?" Charlie needs to come back to reality a bit. "Yeah, yeah I am." The boy smiles. Charlie gets nervous and tries to hide the fact that he's blushing. Charlie quickly peeks at the name that's on the boys math homework. It says: Nick Nelson. Charlie smiles too. That is the most amazing name he had ever heard. The initials are the same letter, he loves it. "Where you making your homework while you where walking?" Charlie asks to Nick. Nick blushes. "Oh uhm yeah." He laughs. "That's really impressive." Nick laughs again. "That makes me sound way smarter than I actually am." His laugh is actually beautiful. Nick clears his throat. "I need to get to my lesson. I'll see you around." Charlie moves aside. "Yeah, yeah of course." Charlie looks behind one more time before he walks to his lesson.

"Charlie seriously, no. He's one of the rugby lads for god's sake." Tao says whispering to Charlie while trying to focus on what the teacher is saying. "But I swear it looks like he's into me too." Tao laughs. "Alright if you think so." Charlie smiles. "I do, he even blushed." "He did?" "Absolutely." Charlie says with a smirk. "Alright just be careful." "I promise I will." "Tao and Charlie be quiet please." The teacher says strict. Tao seems to be able to focus but Charlie can't. After a lot of boring talking the bell finally went and Tao and Charlie walk in the hallway on the way to the school gate. On the way he runs into Elle and Charlie tells her a quick story about the amazing boy he'd just met. "Sounds like a story for tomorrow, see you then?" Charlie wants to answer but he gets pulled away by Tao who has oddly red cheeks. "Who was that?" He asks not trying to show his red face. "A friend I've been eating lunch with. "Is that Elle, you know the trans girl?" "Yeah that's her." "She seems like a nice girl." "Yeah." Charlie answers smiling. "Yeah" Tao answers back trying to get a quick glimpse of the girl, but they are too far away. Charlie wants to walk further but sees Nick in the corner of his eye. "Tao that's him." "Who?" "That guy sitting on that blue bench with the blond hair." Tao opens his mouth in shock. "That's Nick?" Charlie looks confused. "Yeah, why? "Well I heard he is openly bisexual." Charlie just stands there in total shock. "See I was right, he could be into me." Tao rolls his eyes but still says: "guess your right."
