~ Dying love ~

I apologize for this in advance, idk why I wrote this. I started months ago but never wanted to post it cause I didn't want to torture you but yk here it is either way....

TW: mention of dying and sickness.
Please don't read this story if you're uncomfortable with death or recently lost a loved one.

Charlie happily smiled while running with Nellie. Charlie loved running. After a while he got tired, breathing heavenly while he got a painful lurch in his chest. Not knowing that that was a disease that would eventually kill him.

Charlie felt the happiest with his boyfriend Nick. He had been dating him for around 6 years. They were both in college, had an appartement and were both desperate to have a future together.

While both there lives kept going, the disease that was running trough Charlie veins slowly sucked the life out of Charlie's body without him knowing.

After some months Charlie starting noticing the the side effects of Charlie's disease. He was tired quickly, and after a lazy on the couch day it felt like he had run 6 miles, even if he just went to the fridge. His chest pain randomly on the day started to annoy him. "Maybe visit a doctor about it." His boyfriend Nick had said. It did cross his mind once or twice, but Charlie hated the hospital and everything and anyone inside it.

He asked his friends for advice. He always does in big decisions like this. They all told him to just go and see. Maybe it wasn't even that bad and they had a cure for his problem. He went Sunday afternoon. His boyfriend Nick suggested to go with him. Very sweet but he needed to get over his fear by himself.

He walked in the hospital. Everything seemed okay instead the smell. It smelled like hospital. He hated the smell off the hospital. He decided to ignore this and walked further to the reception. He gave his name and birth and the name of the doctor he had an appointment with. He sat down and waited. Eventually around 15 minutes later he heard footsteps around the corner and his name got called.

"Charles spring. Come with me."

He sat down in his little office. The doctor pushed back a chair so Charlie could sit down. He told about his symptoms and worries. He needed to lie down so that the doctor could listen to his heart. "Take off your shirt please." Now he regretted not bringing Nick. Charlie tried to ignore the voices in his head, not wanting to make a scene, and lay down. Charlie awkwardly lay there, looking at the ceiling and moving his toes to get away with nerves, while the doctor listens to his heart.

"I think there is indeed something but I can't see that right now." Charlie sat back up, jumped off the table and put his shirt back on. "How else can you see that?" Charlie wondered. "MRI scan." Charlie gasped. "What?" He was only coming here for a little chest pain, he didn't know it would end up like this. "Well I need to discuss this at home and with my boyfriend." The doctor nodded. "I totally understand." The doctor gave him a small business card. "For if you changed your mind." Charlie thanked the doctor and walked out.

While he got home he discussed it with his boyfriend. Nick told him he should go and after a call with his friends Charlie was certain, he was gonna do this. So Charlie made an appointment for next week, Nick will obviously go with him.

The day of the appointment the couple needed to get up early and drive there. Charlie didn't had breakfast because he wasn't allowed. It was the same routine as last time, he gave information to the reception, waited in the waiting room and eventually got called. But this time his boyfriend went with him. At first Nick wasn't allowed inside, because Charlie wasn't a child anymore. But after Charlie indicated that he was very nervous the doctors agreed that it was okay. Charlie needed to be in the MRI for 20 minutes. He needed to stay really still or it wouldn't work. He was allowed to bring headphones to listen to music and needed to get everything that was metal out of his clothes, like his belt. After he was done they told him that he will receive an call with the results.
