Disaster

Skulduggery's POV

I woke up this morning, but Val wasn't with me so I started to panic. I jumped out of bed and looked around frantically looking for her, until I noticed a note on the door, I read it out loud "Skul, im really confused at the moment, so I need to get away for a while. Im sorry. Don't try and contact me, ill come back when I figured things out - Val" I finished reading it I scrunched it up and threw it on the floor. I ran back upstairs and got dressed in to another suit and sprinted back down stairs. I grabbed my keys and sprinted out the door to the Bentley. I jumped it and started it and the engine roared as I sped down the drive way. As I was speeding I could have sworn I saw someone jump into the bush, but I didn't care for the moment I only wanted Val back. I sped down to the sanctuary too see if she went there.

When I got there I jumped out of the Bentley and sprinted in, but because I was going too fast I fell and face planted the floor, I immediately got up and prayed to god that know one saw me. That's when I heard roaring laughter from behind me, I turned and saw Ghastly rolling on the floor and Erskine hardly standing up both in hysterics. I sighed and walked over to them "Have a nice trip Skul" Ghastly said in between fits of laughter "Why didn't you send us a postcard" Erskine followed up, "Where's Val" I asked frantically "I don't know" Ghastly said wiping tears from his eyes "Why do you ask"

"She left a note saying she needed to be alone and she left" Skulduggery said starting to sound worried, Ghastly and Erskine immediately stopped laughing and stood up "Dont worry Skul she'll be fine, come in, we'll chat in my office" Erskine said and put his arm around Skulduggery's shoulder, and they began walking into the office. Suddenly a bullet shot straight through Ghastly's chest and he collapsed to the floor clutching the wound and Skulduggery knelt down next to him and ripped of a bit of material of his jacket and put it over the wound. Ghastly closed his eyes slowly and Skulduggery roared "GHASTLY! STAY WITH ME! COME ON GHASTLY, LISTEN TO MY VOICE! I NEED A DOCTOR NOW!" A swarm of doctors came and picked up Ghastly and lead him to the medical wing. Skulduggery went with his holding his hand and sobbing all the way. Erskine had gone after the attacker but he couldn't find them, so he made his way back to the medical wing and began to sob with Skulduggery. Ghastly hadn't awoken yet and the doctors had done all they could do to save him. Skulduggery rang Tanith and told her the news and she burst into tears which made Skulduggery cry even more. Ghastly lay motionless on the bed with tubes sticking out of him, it didn't look god for Ghastly. It didn't look good at all.
