Aurora Sommers always loved coffee. She loved letting the fresh smell of it absorb her while she laid in her soft silky blankets. The sound of the birds chirping echoed through her slightly open window where the warm breeze entered the small crack.
She absolutely adored living in a small town especially mystic falls. Her mom was here and all her friends. She felt safe, after all, nothing ever happened here. That was until the death of her aunt and uncle.
On May 23rd, 2009 Miranda Sommers-Gilbert and Grayson Gilbert drove off a bridge in an unfortunate car accident with their daughter (Aurora's cousin and best friend) Elena Gilbert in the back seat. The two parents ended up passing away while Elena miraculously survived.
These deaths shook the Gilbert family to it's core, turning Elena and Jeremy's life around so much that in result of that Jenna Sommers and her daughter Aurora, moved into the Gilbert residence to help raise and support the two teenagers.
Since then, Aurora has quickly bonded with her cousins enough to call them not only family but her best friends as well and with that came a whole new life for Aurora.
Today she was determined to try and get back to her old self. The self that was the preppy teenager girl with everyone wrapped around her finger. She was popular, smart, beautiful and talented. She was everything every girl wanted to be and the person every guy wanted to date. But Aurora was determined to focus on herself and so with the annoying alarm chirping in her ear, Aurora reached over and slammed it off. She rolled out of bed, quickly making it and then headed to get ready for the day. She yawned as she made her way to the bathroom, only to see Elena in there getting ready for the day.
"Good morning," Elena grinned amused seeing the girls tired stance, Aurora let out an annoyed sound before going over and grabbing her hair brush to begin her routine. After a few moments of silence and letting the state of waking up set in on her, Aurora finally spoke up. "You ready for today?" Aurora asked curiously a hint of concern in her voice. Elena sighed at this glancing over at her cousin, "I guess. As ready as I'll ever be." Based off of Aurora's unconvinced look, Elena continued, "Today will be different. I mean it has to be. I'm going to start fresh, be someone new."
"Well I'm always one call away if you need me." "Thank you." Elena smiled appreciatively "Now, onto a different topic. What are you going to wear today?" ~~ Based off of Elena's answer, Aurora ended up helping her pick out an outfit and in the end it came out perfect. Then the girl got ready herself before the two headed downstairs.
"Toast. I can make toast." Jenna spoke running around the kitchen frantically "It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna." Elena responded pouring Aurora a cup of coffee and passing it to the girl before filling herself up one. "Is there coffee?" Jeremy wondered appearing in the kitchen before taking Aurora's cup before she could even take a sip and drinking it himself. "Hey!" Aurora exclaimed taking her cup back "Don't touch my coffee!"
