A week had past since my birthday party and I made lots of uses of all my gifts, I painted lots of canvases for my room and I made lots of concept sketches of the creatures that I made up in my head which was a calming past time for me. The heart of summer was fast aproaching and the beach trips and country road drives became more common in my life, but unfortunately it couldn't last as my due date was approaching quickly and Sophia was very overprotecive when it came to me doing anything that "seemed dangerous", but I knew she was just trying to make sure nothing happened before I went into labour.
"So Diana have you thought about how you want your birth to go? I mean god knows when your gonna go into labour and I just want you to be prepared so your not diving into it completely terrified." Sophia said to me one day as we were just chilling at home.
"I actually have been thinking about it and..sophia..I wanted to ask you if we could do a home birth?" I asked shyly.
"A home birth? Are you sre that's the best idea?, I mean natural labor takes it's toll on you and I don't want you to be In horrendous pain." Sophia said with a worried tone hidden in her voice.
"I know, I just feel like I would be most comfortable bring in labour here instead of having doctors yelling at me the whole time" I said.
"Well if that's what you want then il support your decision, we just have to prepare now and il go out and get some things to help ease your labour naturally, now I had another session with marina booked for today, do you think your up for it?" She asks.
"Yeah I feel good enough to go." I said
"Alright let's get going then." Sophia said.
We got into the car and made our way to the studio again, I loved going into that building for those lamaze classes because the atmosphere as soon as you walked in there just felt calming and you were able to collect yourself and your thoughts there, it felt wonderful to be able to just go there and not feel like I was being judged. I remember that day specifically being extra hot and I remember Sophia having the windows down and the air conditioning on but still feeling overheated as we drove, I sat in my seat slightly panting as i tried fanning myself with my book
"Honey you doing ok? I know it's super hot but we'll be there soon." Sophia asked me, I saw beads of sweat dripping down her forehead.
"Yeah I'm ok, just this big ass stomach ain't helping." I said laughing.
"Well I imagine it wouldn't help at all." She said laughing as well.
I started to laugh but as soon as I did the urge to throw up overwhelmed me intensely, Sophia noticed my face flush a pasty white.
"Are you gonna puke?" She asked as she pulled over, it a split second she hauled the backseat trashcan up front and held it under me.
"I'm close to it." I said gagging, a second later my breakfast came up along with the other pregnancy puke bullshit that came along with morning sickness, I felt Sophia rub my back and hold my hair back as I hurled into that trashcan and I could only feel worse as the heat clung to my face and everywhere else on me.
"You good?" She asked, I nodded my head yes as she tied up the garbage bag.
We eventually made it to the studio and the moment we walked in the air conditioning welcomed us with open arms, I stood there in the doorway just letting the cool air swallow me up.
"I assume it's hot outside." Marina said sarcastically as she watched me stand there.
"No it's cold outside." I said laughing
"Well I don't wanna keep you waiting, let's get this session started." Marina said clapping her hands together.
Over the course of an hour marina showed me how the birthing process works and what my job would be to ensure I have a safe birth, it was freaky as hell but I managed to get through it, then came the hard part, I had to practice some of the birthing positions she showed me.
