Iseul had to walk home by herself since Ni-ki was with his team, getting ready for his game tonight. Iseul hadn't missed any of his games so far. Even when they were taking up her precious study time she would drag herself in her hoodie and sweatpants back to other schools just for him.

Ni-ki had been recently complaining about how he wasn't as 'perfect' as he was before. He said his game was off during practices and was worried he wouldn't get much game time.

    Iseul thought that was bullshit.

She hated his guts but anyone with common sense could tell he was talented. He was a big limitless ball of energy. She also knew that their coach could see his potential. Mr. Min was strict, but he made their team strong.

She placed her sunglasses on her face and stepped into the gym. Iseul tried to ignore the lingering sweaty smell as she sat down in the fifth row in the bleachers. The boys were already starting their warmups with a free throw drill, so the game would start in a few minutes.

Iseul busied herself by buying a few snacks at the concession stand. She knew Ni-ki wouldn't eat before the game since he gets nauseous easily, but she would hand him a pack of skittles during halftime to boost his energy.

When she got back, she saw a group of Ni-ki fan girls sitting in the first row. This had been their team's first home game of the season, so it was expected people would come to see the varsity team play.

It was always good to have extra support, even if that support came in high pitched screams and lots of hearts towards the boys. Iseul doubted it was good for Ni-ki's already large ego.

Iseul always kept her phone on silent during his games to not get distracted, but Ni-ki made it easy as he would take the spotlight on the court. His presence was similar to when he was dancing, although not as hypnotic.

Today was not one of his best days.

Ni-ki was surprisingly good at hiding his frustration. He missed two shots and passed the ball straight to the other team. He wasn't frowning and didn't seem irritated. But Iseul could tell he was having a hard time because of his lack of a smile. She could tell how much this game really meant to him and it wasn't often he was seen with a blank face.

Soon later Coach Min subbed him out and said a few words before letting him grab some water. Iseul couldn't have been more curious as to what he said.
