26: Rejections

Taehyun arrives at Yunjin's house and parks his car in her driveway. He drove unwillingly to her house but he knows it is necessary for them to talk. Yunjin needs closure so he will tolerate the conversation for the sake of avoiding drama within their friend group.

He sighs heavily, dreading to be at this current location but before he gets out of his car his phone vibrates and he hurriedly checks it. He lips curve up a bit once he saw who messaged him.

Taehyun thanked the heavens for sending a certain angel to distract him at the perfect time. He thinks about how Beomgyu is the angel and the agitation he has been feeling soothes into relaxation.

Taehyun imagines Beomgyu sulking cutely. Oh how he wants to take away all of Beomgyu's worries.

Taehyun smiles at the thought of Beomgyu worrying about his feelings. He immensely likes this considerate little bear.

After waiting a few minutes, Beomgyu hasn't responded yet. Taehyun sighs then decides he should stop waiting for Beomgyu to message him back and do what he came here to do. He wants to get this over with after all.

He exists his car and walks towards Yunjin's front door. He feels his anxiety build up again, not expecting what could happen with this girl. After a moment of hesitation he finally knocks on the door.

Yunjin answers swiftly and greets him with a pleased smile.

"Hi Taehyun."

"Hi." Taehyun forced out. 

"Come in." She says as she steps aside to make room for Taehyun to enter.

Taehyun suddenly feels tense. He's not comfortable being there by himself with her but he will give her the benefit of the doubt. He absolutely does not want to be on bad terms with her. That's why he agreed to come over to talk to her in the first place.

"Let's go to the living room." Yunjin said, gesturing the way. After shutting the door, she leads him to her living room and sits on one of the couches. Taehyun sits next to her but keeps a distance.

There is an awkward silence once they sit down. Taehyun presumes Yunjin is uncertain how to start the conversation so he takes the initiative to speak first.

After a slight hesitation, he asks, "How are you doing?"

Yunjin looks at him abruptly with widen eyes. His question surprised her. Then she looks down at her lap, fidgeting with the seam of her shorts as she murmurs, "Not good actually."
