I was having a great time with my new friends. We talked, we drew, we chased each other, and many more things!

"It's almost naptime," Maya said, "We should all sleep together as if we were camping!"
"Wait, this Daycare has a naptime?" I asked, confused.
"Yup, whether you want to sleep or not, Mr. Moon always puts us to bed." Luca smirked.
"Who's that?" I'm getting really frustrated of how little information I know of the Daycare.
"Mr. Moon is Mr. Sun's counter part. At least, I think that's what it's called," Maya explained, "When the lights turn off, Mr. Moon comes out. He's like a giant Cresent Moon."
"He is a giant Cresent Moon dumbie." Luca rolled his eyes.
Liam slapped his shoulder, "Shut up dude. Look naptime's starting so Y/N will get to EXPERIENCE what happens."
I looked behind me and see Sun gathering children closer to him, many with sleeping bags in hand.

"Hoho! It's that time of day sunshines," Sun laughed, handing out sleeping bags to every kid with open arms, "Are you all excited to see Mr. Moon?"
"YESSSS!" The entire Daycare boomed as the sounds of children replying echoed
I was handed a F/C sleeping bag while Maya had a pink one, Liam had a blue, and Luca had a green.
"Come on, let's go over there. That's the best spot to see Mr. Moon transform." Maya pointed a spot somewhat close to the security desk. Why did they have that anyways? Nobody worked here besides Sun and Moon.

We setup our sleeping bags and got settled in. As soon as I sat down, I heard Sun call out from behind me.
"On the count of three kiddos! 1... 2.... 3!" Sun flicked a light switch and in a snap, the lights turned off. I must admit, it was darker than I expected.

I glanced towards my friends, who's faces were a little disappointed.
"I forgot how hard it is to see without a flashlight." Maya shrugged.
"Dang it, I wanted to see him transform." Luca sighed.
"See who transform?" A voice asked from behind.
We all jump. Well, more accurately, I jumped, the others just turn around.
"Hi Mr. Moon!" Liam smiled.
"Hello starlights. You should all be in your sleeping bags right now." Moon had a warm deep voice, which was already making me drowsy.
We all shifted into our sleeping bags and Moon sat down beside us and played calming music.

Apparently, we were the only ones awake at that time.

Once everyone was fast asleep, Moon checked on everyone else. Even in the dark, I could tell he was satisfied with his work.

At least, until he checked on me.
"Firefly, are you not tired?" He asked, his red eyes glowing in the dark softly.
I look away, embarrassed and nervous "I-I'm afraid.."
"Of what?"
"I've n-never slept without a s-stuffed animal." You mumbled, playing with your hands.
He seemed to smile at this information. "I have just the thing."
He booped my nose with a finger and hosted himself up with a rope. He then flew to the same balcony Sun flew up to earlier. I wonder what he was getting.

He soon returned with something in his hands. He flew gracefully down and sat next to me. He handed me two plushies, one looked like Sun, the other looked like him.
"I hope this will help you sleep little star." He smiled as I took them from his hands. They were softer than I expected.
"Yeah.. this helps a lot..." I smiled, hugging them close.
"Good, you can keep them as a souvenir if you'd like."
I nodded, already drifting to sleep with the comfort of the plushies.

I could hear music coming from where Moon was but I was already dreaming by the time it started.
~~~
"Rise and Shine kiddos! Naptimes over and soon your parents will be arriving," a booming voice called out, "You don't wanna waste playtime, do you?"
I shifted in my small sleeping bag and rubbed my groggy eyes. I pushed myself up with all my strength into a sitting position. I looked around and found Sun picking up sleeping bags while kids were running off, using every little time of play time they could.
"Good morning sunshine! Did you sleep well?" Sun approached, crouching down to my level.
"Yeah. Moon gave me some plushies and they helped." I revealed softly.
"That's good to hear! Now, go play before your parents come and pick you up!" He gently shoo's me away and I grab my plushies and run towards my friends, who were throwing plastic balls at eachother.
I may or may not have joined.
~~~
Almost everyone was gone by the time it was 2pm, according to Sun. Only a few kids remained, me and Liam being one of them.

"Liam! Your parents are here!" Sun called from the entrance.
"Bye Y/N, we'll see each other again sometime!" Liam waved.
I clenched my plushies closer to my chest. Now, I'm all alone. No friends and no company. Well, I have Sun and my plushies but they don't count right now.

I walk over to Sun as the last two kids leave the Daycare.
"When will my parents come to pick me up?" I asked, both plushies were now touching my chin.
"I dunno sunshine. I suppose they will come when they can," Sun smiled weakly, "For now; we have the entire Daycare to us! What would you like to do?"
"I just want to sit down, if you don't mind." I mumbled.
"Of course! I'll get you some snacks if you'd like?"
"Yes please." I made my way over to the tables and placed my plushies on marker stained table.
Soon, Sun brought over some chocolate chip cookies and a cup of milk.
"Here you go sunshine!" He beamed, "I'm going to go clean up now, you enjoy yourself."
"Thank you." I grab a cookie and dip it into the warm milk. I take a bite out of the now soft cookie and smile.

Delicious.
~~~
By now, Sun's rays are inside his head. He's pacing and fiddling with his metal fingers, making little clinking sounds.
I can tell he's thinking about how nobody has picked me up yet. It was already almost closing time, according to him.
He trys not to show he's nervous but I guess he can't help himself.
"Don't worry sunshine, I'm sure they'll come eventually!" He would always say, though I don't know who he was telling that to. Me or himself.
~~~
It's closing time.

I know it is and I don't need anyone to tell me.

All the lights are off, inside and outside the daycare. Moon is out and fussing over me. All I can think about is how nobody came to pick me up.

I've been abandoned. Left out. Forgotten.

By my own family.

Moon insists on putting me into a sleeping bag while he patrols. I guess he wants me to get my energy before he reports me to security.

That's fine.

I'm tired anyways.
