" I am Caulis. I am a farmer's wife. This home belongs to Karie and Brent ,"said Mrs Ndolo. Small crumbs fell on her green dress.
Presently Karie and Brytal entered bearing glasses and wine.
A young boy came in with a tray of strawberries.
"So Chrystal are you ready to join our club. Brytal says you are new in town and a hard worker,"said Deringue.
"Sure. What kind of club is this."
"We meet as friends and support each other through hard times. We also help a select person each month with some of our contribution. We want to make a difference and help those in need."
"Sounds good." She helped herself to a strawberry.
"Those are from the farm. I advised Brent 'fiancee' to plant them. They did well. "
They were big and juicy."
The same boy came in with fruit juice and went back to take a tray of fried meat.
"It's a chicken We slaughtered it last night. It was really fat"
Chrystal watched them as they talked about their lives and families. They were like one big family. She admired them for that. She took a bite of the meat and sipped her wine.

Someone tapped a glass.
"Hey order. Enough idle chat. I declare this meeting open. Karie please say the prayers."
Karie led them in prayers.
She proceeded to read for them their financial statement. She then read a letter by a student they had helped the last month. She then welcomed Chrystal and hoped she would be with them. On Condition she would pay at least a specified amount,a two hundred shillings.

"You are all welcome. The floor is open."
"Ladies Karie and I have a business plan. I want to start supplying farm produce to town's people who are not able to come this far to get produce,"said Deringue. Caulis smiled knowingly and patted her. Deringue worked with Brent on the farm. She had a degree in agriculture and Brent had invited her to work with him on some projects.
"It's a good idea. At least it saves them time and money,"added Karie.
"It sounds ok. How about we be your first customers. You can supply me with fresh fruit if this strawberry is your mark of quality. Chrystal?,"said Brytal brightly.
"It is a good idea. I could do with fresh tomatoes and onions."
"It is a done deal. I will get Grutal to harvest some of the produce."

Grutal was the farm worker. Karie noted this down.
"I invite you all to the twins birthday on Sunday,"said Deringue.
"Those kids have grown up so quickly. I remember when I used to take them to the park,"noted Brytal.
"Please be in green. It is their favorite color."
"Teenagers."
"At least we will be camouflaged if we have party outside,"said Brytal biting a nail. No one laughed.
"I love your nail color,"Karie said. She had painted baby pink with rose flower.
"When is the wedding Karie?" Deringue asked with a smile.
"We have not set any date. His parents have yet to approve. They are still getting used to the idea we live together."
She snickered nervously.
"Well, ladies we have to choose this month's beneficiary."
"I am afraid it is another student,"Karie read a note.
'performs well. Got an A in maths and chemistry. A C- in English and a B in Kiswahili. Good report card. Mother is sick. Goes school with Benta.'
"Deringue you know her a Mrs.Mambo,"she said.
"Oh I know her. She is a very active mom. Works two Jobs and a church member. Let me talk to her I will communicate with you tomorrow."
"Any a.o.b?"
There was silence.
"We will meet on Sunday. Ladies, more juice. Before you leave there is a leave a note on amount and type of produce you want."
"Here Karie. My husband sent a note of thanks for helping him last year in November when he was kicked out of the farm,"said Caulis.
"Friend I hope you sort out your farm problem and do your silo project."

"Who needs a ride. I am going to town?"asked Deringue.
