Where have you been?

'Brytal is that you. Thank God you called. I have been trying to reach you.'. 'was at my parents '...'we are at the hospital '...'what happened. Are you okay '....'Karie had an accident. She fell and injured her leg. She lost a lot of blood'....'i will come see her tomorrow '...'okay but we need a donor asap. Her blood group is O-. Hospital has low supply'...'i am A- . I will talk to my friends '....'don't worry. We will talk tomorrow.'
She hung up and messaged Chrystal and a few friends.
That night she was restless. She was worried about Karie and Jorgeen. What was she going to do?
The next day she went to church. She earnestly prayed that God would show her the right path.
She shortly visited Karie. Chrystal accompanied her. She was stable just a leg had gotten injured. Luckily no broken bones.
She phoned Matterson and said she would be late for work on Monday.
She ignored Jorgeen's call.

Meanwhile at the hospital Karie had woken up. She was surprised to see an older woman watching her. She yawned.
"Water"
The woman gave her water.
"What time is it? Who are you?"
"Monday. It is eight o'clock in the morning. Karie, I am your mother. I donated blood,"she said and sat beside her.
Karie eyed her. The woman was tall and dark. She had long raven hair and a round nose. When she smiled her cheeks dimpled. It reminded Karie of herself when she put on a confident smile. Her mouth had a deep red shade and that matched her lacquered nails.
Brytal entered the room.
"My baby," Karie cried out holding her tummy.
"Call a doctor,"the woman instructed.
A nurse came in holding a file.
"How are you feeling Karie?"
He examined her briefly.
"You will get well soon. Your vitals are okay and you will get discharged soon. The baby is doing well. Come for a scan next week."
"Why?"
"It's to check on the progress of your pregnancy."
"How soon will she mend"
"Madam as long as she rests for a while she will be well. She could get discharged tomorrow."
"Thank you doctor. I am Mags Karie's mother."
"I am Brytal, Karie's friend."
"Nice to meet you both. I am Andrew.If you will excuse me "
He took his leave.
"How come you are here?"asked Karie.
"I was called by Brent yesterday. He told me that you were in bad shape and that you were expecting my grandson. I don't know how he got my number."
"She had searched for you for a long time,"Brytal added.
"I know. Someone had been snooping around my business. I wanted to forget my past with your dad. I regret leaving you. I was afraid that he had started searching for me again."
"Guys, I have to go to work. I will see you later. Get well soon Karie. Mags.."
She left them.
What a stroke of luck that Karie had finally met her mother. This situation had brought them together. Brytal smiled 'every cloud has a silver lining'.
