- Eunchae's POV -

As Garam and I walked home together at night, we passed by a beautiful garden filled with white roses. My eyes landed on them, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of frustration. I didn't want Garam to notice, so I casually walked over to the garden and picked one of the roses, pretending to admire its beauty.

But as soon as Garam turned her back, I sank my teeth into the delicate petals, tearing them apart with anger and frustration. The taste of the rose was bitter in my mouth, and I felt a strange sense of satisfaction at the destruction I had caused.

Garam turned around and saw me standing there with the remnants of the rose in my hand. "Eunchae, what are you doing?" She asked, puzzled. I quickly tried to hide the remains of the rose, but it was too late. Garam had seen everything already. "Why do you hate them so much?" She asks, adding. "White roses."

I sighed quietly, looking down at my feet as we walked. "You don't have to tell me, Eunchae." Garam smiles softly at me. "I'll tell you.. But don't tell anyone about this Garam. Let it stay between you and me." I looked into her eyes, she nodded and I noticed the sincerity in her eyes. "I promise." She holds her pinky finger out to me, and I hook mine around hers.

I forced a smile on my face even though the pain in my eyes must have been obvious. I took a deep breath and decided to tell her about it. She deserves to know about it.. After everything I've put her through. "I used to love white roses," I started my voice barely above a whisper. "They were my favorite flower. I loved the way they looked so pure and innocent, like they held all the secrets of the world."

Garam nodded, silently urging me to continue. I took another deep breath. "But then one day, everything changed," I said. "I was walking through a  garden full of white roses with my best friend, a human girl named Yuri. We had known each other for years, ever since we were children. I trusted her completely, and she trusted me."

I paused, feeling a pang of pain in my chest. "But then she pulled out a knife," I whispered. "And she started to stab me. Over and over again, until my blood splattered all over the white roses. I lied there and watched as my blood splattered all over the place, covering the white roses with a crimson color.."

Garam gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. I could see the shock and horror in her eyes. "I thought that I was going to die," I continued, my voice shaking. "But somehow, I managed to survive. I healed quickly, being a vampire and all. But the scars never really went away.. And neither did the fear."

I smiled a little as I continued, "Yuri was my best friend," I said softly, "But she couldn't handle the fact that I was a vampire. She thought that I was a monster, that I didn't deserve to live. And so she tried to kill me." I put my hands in my pockets, enjoying the cold night breeze as we continued to sit silently.

"E-eunchae.." Garam stutters, terrified by what I had just told her. "I'm so sorry, I.. I didn't know. That must've been so scary, I can't imagine how you must've felt.."

I turned to look at her, my heart aching at the genuine concern in her eyes. "It was," I admitted, "But I've learned to live with it. And I'm grateful to have someone like you in my life, Garam." Garam smiled softly at me, and I felt a warmth spread through my chest.

"Of course, Eunchae," She said, "I'll always accept you for who you are." She took my hand in hers, and I felt a jolt of electricity pass through my body. We sat in silence for a few moments, hand in hand, enjoying the beauty of the night sky. The stars were twinkling like diamonds in the sky, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder.

"How is it?" I asked suddenly, turning to look at Garam. She looked at me, confused. "What do you mean?" She asked. "To be human," I clarified, feeling a pang of envy in my chest. "To be able to feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, to breathe in the fresh air, to have a beating heart.. To be able to love without fear of hurting someone."

Garam looked at me, her expression softening. "But Eunchae," She said pouting slightly, "You have your own strengths. You're immortal, you have superhuman abilities, and.. You have me." She smiled at me, giving me a playful wide grin. I smiled a little, "I'm really sorry for today though.. I don't know what came over me."

Garam sighs, "It's okay, I'm not mad at you.. It just shocked me.. And to be honest it scared me too. I felt like I didn't know you for a moment there." She looked down at her hands, fiddling with her fingers nervously. "But I trust you, Eunchae. I know that you would never hurt me."

I felt a lump form in my throat, overwhelmed by her kindness and trust. "I would never intentionally hurt someone.. It's scary to think that I could lose control like that, but I promise to do my best to keep it under control."

Garam nods, "I know you will Eunchae, you're so strong and brave." I felt my heart swell with gratitude towards her. "Thank you, Garam," I said, squeezing her hand gently. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Garam leaned her head on my shoulder, snuggling closer to me. "You don't have to worry about that," She said with a yawn. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

"WAKE UP ROMEO AND JULIET!!"

I groaned quietly at Wonyoung's loud, annoying, jarring, grating, disruptive, like a fire alarm, high pitched, shrill, like a cat in heat, whiny, irritating, obnoxious voice. I buried my face deeper into the soft, warm and comfortable flesh. I opened my eyes, realizing that I had buried my face into Garam's arm instead of covering my ears.

"Hmm.." A soft hum left Garam's lips and I looked around.. Why are we outside..? "I can't believe that you two seriously fell asleep on a bench.. Outside!!" Wonyoung kicks me in the knee. "FUCKING HAMSEMESTER!!!" My eyes widened as I reached over to hold onto my knee.

I turned my head to Garam's side worried, how did she manage to sleep here..? "Garam." I shook her gently, "Garam, wake up." She slowly opened her eyes, rubbing them groggily. "What's going on..?" She asked, still half-asleep. "We fell asleep outside," I said, helping her sit up. "Are you okay?"

She stretched and yawned, "Yeah, I'm fine." But I noticed how she winced slightly as she straightened her back. "Garam, your back," I said, concerned my mouth slightly agape. She looks at me with a confused expression, "What about it?"

"You were sleeping on a bench, Garam. That can't be good for your back," I said, still worried. "I'm fine.." She mutters and Wonyoung clears her throat. "Could you guys please discuss this later, we have school today!"

I nod, realizing she's right. We quickly get up and make our way back home, getting ready for school in a rush. As we leave the house, I can't help but continue to ask Garam if she's okay. "Are you sure your back is okay, Garam? We can go to the nurse's office if you need to."

Garam just smiles at me, "I'm okay, Eunchae. You worry too much." But I can't help but worry. After all, I am a vampire, and I know how fragile humans can be. As we make our way to school, I keep an eye on Garam, making sure she doesn't do anything that might cause her any more pain.

"Let's keep an eye on Yeseo today.. And Chaewon." I whispered, making sure that my voice is not too loud. Garam nods in agreement.
